Anemone narcissiflora (lat. Anemone narcissiflora) - a representative of the genus Anemone of the numerous Buttercup family. In natural conditions, it grows in the mountainous states of the United States - Colorado and Wyoming, as well as in Alaska and some European countries. Typical habitats are mountain meadows. Often the plant can be found in areas with calcareous soils. Currently cultivated in Russia and Europe. Most often it is cultivated on personal household plots. Other names are daffodil anemone, bunch anemone, bunch anemone.

Characteristics of culture

Anemone daffodil is represented by plants no more than 0.4 m in height with stems pubescent over the entire surface, at the base of which there is deeply dissected basal foliage. The flowers of the culture under consideration are yellowish-white or lemon, equipped with yellow stamens, outwardly resemble daffodils loved by many gardeners and flower growers, therefore the plant received this name. Flowers are located singly or in groups of 3-8 pieces.

Flowering culture is observed in the first or second decade of June until the second or third decade of August, which largely depends on the growing conditions. The fruits of the daffodil anemone are smooth, spherical, bearing black seeds. The species is used to decorate rocky gardens, borders and other flower beds. Looks attractive on lawns decorated with large stones and boulders.

Currently, there is one form of daffodil anemone - villosissima. It is characterized by rather large plants with a height of about 30-35 cm with large basal foliage of an oval shape, divided into 5 lobes. Particular attention is paid to the flowers of the form in question, they are white or cream in color and are quite large in size.

Growing features

It should be noted that the daffodil anemone, in fact, like other representatives of the genus Anemone, are not whimsical plants. Their cultivation is subject to even beginner and busy flower growers and gardeners. The culture does not put forward special requirements, however, the daffodil anemone develops in the best way on loamy, moderately moist, well-drained soils. Waterlogged, saline, waterlogged and heavy soils are unsuitable for cultivation.

The location for the culture in question is preferably sunny, light partial shade with diffused light is possible. Lowlands with stagnant cold air, places with accumulation of precipitation, heavily shaded areas should be excluded, plants on them will not show their true beauty and will soon die. In areas with insufficient sunlight, the daffodil anemone practically does not bloom, or poor flowering is observed.

The culture has a positive attitude towards fertilizers; for abundant flowering and active growth, a couple of dressings are enough. One should be done in early spring, the second before flowering. For feeding, it is recommended to use complex mineral fertilizers. Organic matter is not prohibited, but fresh manure should never be used. Better to limit yourself to mullein solution or rotted compost. So that weeds do not annoy the culture, mulching can be carried out at the moment as soon as the plant starts to grow.

With proper care, the daffodil anemone grows very quickly, therefore it is necessary to plant it away from other ornamental and floral crops, otherwise the plant will simply displace them. You can fence off an area with a daffodil anemone with a low fence, but it is better to regularly remove excess specimens and overgrowths. It is recommended to cultivate the plant in one place for 4-5 years, in the future it is necessary to transplant to another site. It is worth touching on the topic of watering, it should be moderate and regular. Excessive moisture negatively affects the development of plants.
