Agave is a perennial herb with rather short stems and thick, weighty leaves, which are organized into one rosette. The shape of the rosette and leaves changes and grows periodically. The leaves of this plant are usually pointed upwards. It happens that pointed thorns grow along the edges of the leaves. The size of the outlet can be varied. It can have a diameter of about five centimeters, or maybe no more than four centimeters

Agave blooms only once. After the culture stops blooming, the plant continues its vital activity, shoots begin to germinate after the death of the old socket. During the time when the plant is blooming, in the tenth year of its existence, it begins to acquire yellowish-brown small tubes of flowers. In length, they can reach from seven to ten centimeters, which, when assembled, are paniculate inflorescences. Flowers do not begin to bloom immediately, but gradually, usually within a month, and sometimes more. That is why, when the agave blooms, you can see flowers that have not yet blossomed on it. The buds of these flowers look like small bananas with flat black seeds. Agave is one of the most unpretentious plants.

The plant does not require much lighting. It can grow and bloom under any light conditions. But, of course, one should not leave such beauty in a dungeon. You can just put the pot on the window of any windowsill, except for the one that faces north, but there is a way out here too: additional lighting for plants. In the winter period of time, it is possible not to give illumination to this plant. It does not have time to stretch out during the dark winter period.

The temperature for agave in Russia is very suitable. The plant is comfortable at temperatures ranging from twenty to twenty-eight degrees. That is why it is advisable to leave such a plant outside in the summer, where there is fresh air. Such a place can be, for example, a balcony or a plot in the yard. Agave can even be planted in a flower bed for the summer, so the plant requires less grooming. But if it is not possible to keep this flower on the street, then the room in which it is located must be periodically ventilated. In winter, when airing, the temperature should not drop below ten degrees.

The agave plant is accustomed to dry soil and climate. For this reason alone, the plant should be watered with great care. Excess moisture can lead to decay of the root system and the outlet itself, after which the plant will die. In order not to harm the agave, it must be watered when the soil is at least half dry.

There is no need to spray the plant because the air in the city is fully consistent with the conditions of nature. But if the plant is constantly gathering dust, then it should be watered with a slightly lukewarm shower. After a shower, if water gets into the middle of the outlet, then it must be dried immediately, since the plant does not tolerate long stagnation of water at all.

The agave plant loves ordinary soil mixed with sand and stones. The most ordinary land is suitable for him. You can just buy the most common soil for planting flowers. It is advisable to make layers of expanded clay or clay at the bottom of the pot.

During the growing season, the plant needs to be fed three or even four times a week with special store-bought fertilizers for the cactus. Fertilizer is most suitable for the one that contains the least nitrogen. Nitrogen can contribute to leaf decay in the plant. There is no need to feed the agave in winter.

Agave plants, or rather their young specimens, should be transplanted every year, and those that are older need to be transplanted only when necessary. Often it is not worth replanting because you can damage not only the roots of the plant, but also the leaves because of the tenacious thorns. When transplanting an agave, you do not need to deeply bury the neck of the flower. It is imperative to make sure that it is slightly above ground level.

This plant does not require special care and can even live under any conditions created for it. There are nuances of watering, it does not like excess moisture. But in general, this plant is for lazy people or for busy people who have no time to deal with plants, and in general household chores. Agave is perfect for the interior in the office or for design in a flower bed, it will perfectly combine with other nearby growing plants.
