Each culture requires an individual approach. If you overexpose the twigs, the lower part can get burned. Insufficient time - reduces rooting success. In both cases, a good result cannot be expected.
Beginners replace heteroauxin with Epin extra. It is a mild root stimulator, activates the biological processes of the shoot. Prepare a solution according to the instructions 2 drops of the drug for 0.5 cups of liquid. The twigs are kept for 10-15 hours before planting.
Kornevin powder is a convenient option for use. It is applied to the lower sections immediately before disembarkation. It saves the grower time by showing good rooting results.
Landing
According to my personal observations, plants feel better in beds located from north to south. The percentage of rooting is higher on them, the seedlings are larger. Cuttings are placed from west to east. Throughout the day, the sun illuminates the plantings evenly.
We draw rows at a distance of 10-15 cm from each other for the convenience of processing. Set an interval of 7-10 cm between plants. Leaves of adjacent branches should not touch.
Cut into grooves, spill with water. With a sharp stick we pierce the holes for the seedlings. Insert the handle at an angle of 45 degrees to the ground. The bottom cut is in the sand cushion. We knead the soil around with our hand. We put tags with the name of the variety. After planting, we water the entire garden bed with a continuous method from a watering can for better shrinkage of the substrate.
Care
A standard set of measures for the care of cuttings:
• weeding of weeds;
• watering as the topsoil dries up by 1 cm;
• daily airing 5-10 minutes;
• feeding 3 times a season with an interval of 2-3 weeks.
Do not get carried away with pure nitrogen fertilizers. They will give a large green mass to the detriment of the formation of the root system. Use a diet balanced in all elements.
On my plantings I use a complex fertilizer "Zdraven" a tablespoon in a bucket of water or nettle infusion, diluted 10 times with the addition of 1 tablespoon of ash and superphosphate.
After 3-4 weeks, new shoots appear in deciduous trees - a sign of a positive rooting result. For conifers, the process takes from 1 to 6 months. Long-standing branches with green needles do not always indicate the beginning of the growth process.
Cuttings are left in the garden until spring, carefully insulating them for wintering.
Wintering
A weak young root system in the first cold winter needs additional shelter. On thermophilic crops, spruce branches are first laid out, placing the branches with the needles down. It performs the second function, protects plantings from mice that like to feast on young shoots.
Then, high wooden boxes are installed above the seedlings or the arcs are reduced to 20-30 cm above ground level. Cover in two layers with non-woven material, pressing it with bricks. The rag base allows air to penetrate inside, contributing to the normal "breathing" of plants.
With the onset of spring, the shelters are removed, gradually accustoming the seedlings to open ground conditions. Well-developed bushes are planted in a permanent place.
