Plants to help purify the air in your home

Clean air in a house is a guarantee of the health of all its inhabitants. Now the industry presents any air purifiers, buy - I don't want, if only there was money. Or you don't have to rush to get new household appliances, but plant several plants: they will clean the air and create coziness. And they require very little care, some are suitable even for those who do not like or forget to take care of flowers, even water them very rarely. What kind of plants will help purify the air in the house?

Fern nephrolepis

He came to us from the warm countries of Asia and hot Africa. Despite the fact that he is a resident of the tropical and subtropical region, the fern feels great in our homes and apartments. Caring for it is simple: regular daily watering and spraying, feed it with any fertilizer once a month. In winter, reduce the number of sprays to 1-2 times a week. Avoid placing the fern in the sun; shaded areas are more suitable for it. Transplant the plant into a larger pot as it grows, do not immediately plant it in an oversized container.

What is useful for the home? Nephrolepis perfectly cleans the air by absorbing xylene, formaldehyde and toluene. It also helps kill bacteria released by sick people. So if you want to be healthy and not "catch" viruses, if a sick person comes to visit you, plant nephrolepis.

Chlorophytum

Perhaps the most unpretentious plant of all that I know: it grows in almost any soil (there was a case, I even planted it in ordinary soil from the garden, and it grew beautifully), patiently endures a short-term drought, blooms, gives out shoots. Any soil is suitable for planting chlorophytum, but it is still better to buy a ready-made universal soil. How to care? Caring for the plant is extremely simple: regular watering, a shower every 2-3 months, in the spring and summer, fertilizing with any mineral fertilizers with regularity once a month. Does not need spraying. And a wide variety of its types will allow you to choose a plant that will decorate any room, even at home, even in the office.

What is useful for the home? Easily absorbs chemicals sprayed when cleaning a house or apartment, and also destroys bacteria and harmful toxins released by finishing materials. By the way, it is rightly believed that several pots of chlorophytum are able to completely clean the air of the room from toxins and various harmful substances.

Sansevieria (sansevieria, "mother-in-law's language")

Another wonderful and extremely unpretentious plant. To grow "mother-in-law's tongue" you do not have to make a lot of effort. You can generally leave the plant alone and just water it periodically, the sansevier will not die. But her appearance will not be very beautiful either. Therefore, it is better to still make a minimum of effort, then you will get a beautiful ornamental plant.

How to care? For sansevieria, choose a shaded place, but not too dark. An east or west window, or any area with sufficient light, will work well. We take the usual universal soil. Watering is moderate, do not overmoisten the soil, the plant will die from this. Perhaps the only thing that "mother-in-law's language" does not like is waterlogging. Feed once a year with any potassium phosphate fertilizer. Periodically, as it gets dirty, gently wipe the leaves of the plant with a damp cloth, removing dust from their surface. That's the whole care.

What is useful for the home? "Mother-in-law's tongue" perfectly absorbs many toxic substances from the air, as well as carbon dioxide, instead releasing oxygen. By the way, sansevieria belongs to a number of those few plants that are capable of absorbing carbon dioxide and emitting oxygen even at night.

All of the plants described above will look great in any place and interior, and at the same time will be of great benefit: you and your family members will breathe clean air.
