Planting roses from a bouquet

You were presented with a very beautiful bouquet of roses, and you really want to have these not only in the presented bouquets, but also to grow them in your garden (summer cottage) plot in order to admire them every summer? But, as often happens, the nursery lacks exactly what you want more. What to do?

You can continue to try to purchase in the nursery or from private traders on the market (although it is a fact that on the market you will buy exactly what you want, and not what will be slipped in), wait for the next delivery, order on the Internet. Or you can independently grow your favorite flowers from cuttings. And you don't need to "gut" a fresh bouquet for this.

What do we need?

To grow roses, we will need to purchase (or get from our bins) the following: a means for better rooting of plants, a flower pot (if you will not plant it outside), purchased nutrient soil, stationery or ordinary, but very sharp, knife, plastic bottle, I take two or five liters, depending on where I plan to land.

We observe the following rules

1. Do not touch the fresh bouquet, let it stand and please you. If the bouquet contains roses of several colors and you do not need all of them, then mark the flowers you need, for example, tie a small thread or fasten a small silicone rubber band. As soon as the bouquet withers slightly (no need to wait until the flowers are practically dry!), You can start cutting the cuttings.

2. Cut the cuttings. Carefully cut the stem so that at least three buds remain on each cutting. Then with a very sharp knife (for me, for example, it is more convenient for a clerical one, since it is thinner and sharper than usual), we make oblique cuts above the upper and lower kidneys. We remove the leaves: the lower ones entirely, the upper ones - half.

3. By the way, while the bouquet is drying up, take care of purchasing special preparations to improve the rooting of shoots and cuttings of any plants. Usually, these products can be easily purchased at any flower or specialty garden store. After cutting the cuttings, dilute it according to the instructions and place our future roses there for the night (for at least 12 hours, you can leave it at 14, nothing bad will happen).

4. Decide where you will plant the cuttings: in a pot or outdoors. And in fact, and in another case, we prepare the ground. In general, for good rooting of cuttings, it is advisable to take good commercial soil, rich in nutrients, but at the same time light. If the planting will be carried out in open ground, then dig a hole, remove the garden soil from there, fill up the purchased nutrient soil, moisten it. You can mix it with garden soil in a one-to-one ratio. If you plan to plant cuttings in pots, then prepare them by pouring soil there and moistening it. Do not pour too much water!

5. Now you can start planting cuttings. Carefully dig into the ground the cuttings prepared in advance and kept in a rooting agent in such a way that one bud is completely underground, and two, the middle and upper ones, are above the soil surface, while the middle bud should be quite close to the ground. The planting of future roses is done at an angle, that is, the stalk is not located vertically, but diagonally. After planting, gently brush the ground with your hands.

6. Now we cut the plastic bottle into 2 parts, remove the cap from it, cover the cuttings with the part with the hole from the cap. Moisten the soil as needed, do not let it dry out. After the appearance of two or three sprouts, the bottle can be removed. The main thing is not to remove it ahead of time!

That's all, the cuttings will take root, give life to a new plant, and beautiful fragrant roses will delight you every year with their flowering.
