Some keep them "just in case", and many throw them away, not realizing that this is a fertile material for creativity and the implementation of design ideas. Panel

Plain colored walls are ideal to complement in the form of a panel. For this, bright wallpaper with a complex pattern is suitable. Mosaic improvisations, collected from several types, will look good. The cut canvases are glued with an overlap or butt joint. At the end, they are edged with molding, a border or contrasting lines of other wallpaper.

Border

The remnants of striped wallpaper are cut to length along the pattern. The edges are aligned to match the pattern when glued. The resulting longitudinal stripes decorate the corners of the room, lines under the ceiling. They form the visual boundaries of the walls, highlight the line of fit of dissimilar wall coverings. They create a frame for a panel, an edging for shelves and shelves.

A simple application technique is available even for a child. Before work, it is advisable to find a ready-made frame with glass. Based on its size, decide on a color palette that suits your interior. Now you can start creating.

From a dense material, make a base for gluing (hardboard, thick cardboard, plywood), adjust the size and check the thickness, so that later you can place it freely in the frame. There are no restrictions for the plot, but the main tone should stand out in contrast on the wall. Simple paper types are quite suitable, only after gluing and drying should these places be covered with colorless varnish.

Oddly enough, but the design concept includes decorating furniture with wallpaper. It helps to transform worn-out furniture and refresh the interior.

Furniture facades

Cabinet doors, front panels of chest of drawers and other furniture details are beautifully decorated with wallpaper. Any leftovers that blend harmoniously into the environment are used. But more often they are used with a small monotonous pattern or plain textured options.

The lacquered or polished surface must be roughened to enhance adhesion when gluing. A sandpaper is used, a grinder or the surface is softened with a universal wash and cleaned with a metal spatula, scraper.

For light-colored wallpapers, it is desirable to cover the front side with a white primer, PF-115 alkyd enamel or water-based paint. Otherwise, the dark surface will show through after gluing. After drying, sand the paint with coarse emery. Glue the wallpaper on the PVA. After drying, apply a protective layer of two coats of furniture varnish.

Side table

Cracked polish on the coffee table does not need to be covered with napkins. It will be much more convenient to use a smooth tabletop updated with wallpaper.

The surface is prepared according to the above method. It is better to take a dense wallpaper with a small pattern and minimal light areas. No need for priming paint under thick material. Pasting is done on a sanded old PVA coating. From the edge should be kept 1 cm. After drying, create an edging of masking tape at the end and fill it with nitro lacquer.

Why pour? This will create a thick, even layer that looks like a glass surface. Quick-drying varnish has a pungent smell, so the procedure should be carried out with the windows open, and then it should be taken out to the street or balcony and put there until it is completely dry / weathered.

Shelves

The space between open shelves and shelves is perfectly decorated with wallpaper. This visibly animates and creates a finished look for the selected area. Here you can give preference to plain wallpaper or with an unpretentious geometric pattern. Cleaning near walls can be made easier if the wallpaper is washable or with a moisture-resistant coating.
