Urut has very long stems that can even reach one and a half meters in length. Moreover, such stems are supplemented with leaves, which will be quite deeply dissected into threadlike lobes. In the water, however, such stems, together with leaves, form a very dense lace of thickets. Actually, thanks to the presence of such delicate leaves, the plant received its one more name - the pinnate. In Germany, this plant is also known under such a name as yarrow.

Description of uruchi

Urut is a perennial underwater plant in which only shoots can be seen above the water surface. The long stems are not only quite flexible, but they are also covered with feathery and very thin leaf lobes. The branched stems have the ability to cling to the oars, which causes these stems to come off. Plants are supplied with creeping rhizomes, from which new shoots with leaves will grow. The leaves will be either green or brownish in color.

Urut belongs to a family called slanberry. Actually, these plants are quite widespread all over the world, however, only two species of this plant grow in central Russia: Urut spicate and Uruit whorled. This circumstance is due to the fact that other species are not particularly resistant to cold snaps.

Description of uruti spicata

In Latin, the name of this plant sounds like this: Myriophyllum spicatum. This plant is perennial. Urut spikelet is endowed with a very long stem, which can even reach two meters. On this stems, whorls of four to six pieces will be dissected feathery leaves. The leaves are called feathery for the reason that they are very similar to a bird's feather. Very numerous rather thin segments of the leaf extend from the central spine of the leaf. The uruti will have small and inconspicuous flowers painted in pinkish tones. Such flowers are collected in a spike-shaped inflorescence, which rises above the water by about two and a half centimeters. Pollination of the flowers of this plant occurs with the direct help of the wind.

Such a plant is completely immersed in water. However, during pollination, the inflorescence rises above the water surface. The upper flowers of the inflorescence are male and stamen, but the lower ones will be female and pistillate. In the case when all these flowers are on the same plant species, such species are called monoecious. This plant blooms from July to August. In autumn, the fruits ripen, which break up into four nuts. After the urut has faded, the inflorescence will sink into the water.

Description of uruti proserpine

Urut proserpinacoids is also known as aquatic, but in Latin this plant has the following name: Myriophyllum proserpinacoides. This plant has pinkish stems with beautiful feathery leaves. Such stems will float on the surface of the water, while some of them rise above the water surface by about fifteen centimeters. Such plants are not able to withstand the winter period of time, therefore, the plants should be moved indoors for the winter. However, in areas where the climate is warm enough, plants can be left in the reservoir, so that the stems are directly covered with ice. The planting depth of this plant should be about ten to fifteen centimeters.

It is noteworthy that spikelet urut can grow only in stagnant water, but aquatic urut is quite acceptable to grow as a coastal plant. Reproduction of all plant species occurs in a vegetative way. Parts of the plant will need to be lowered into the water or planted at the bottom in the summer or spring.
