I really like to admire the youngsters on the site. Succulent leaves attached to the base resemble beautiful roses. There is a great desire to prolong the charm. It turns out that street specimens can be moved home at the end of summer and enjoy evergreens all year round

Benefits of home breeding

Unpretentious "stone roses" are an excellent practice for inexperienced flower growers. Almost all known types are suitable for home use.

Flower advantages:

• does not require frequent watering;

• put up with poor soils;

• tolerates dry air of apartments well;

• multiplies rapidly;

• many varieties and colors;

• practically free of diseases and pests.

Looking at these positive qualities rejuvenated, I want to grow it on my windowsills.

Window seat

"Roses" love sunny windows. With a lack of light, the plants stretch out strongly, lose their compactness, and their appearance deteriorates. The multi-colored varieties become pale. In the hottest midday hours, the sockets on the southern windows are slightly shaded. In the summer, it is better to take home plants out into the fresh air: a veranda, a balcony, a gazebo.

Landing

They bring the young at the end of summer into the house, without waiting for the onset of cold weather. So that the temperatures outside and indoors are about the same. Adult specimens and young children are suitable for planting.

Choose shallow but wide pots. The roots of the plant are shallow, so tall dishes are not required.

Factory soil is suitable for succulents or cacti. At home, mix sand and ordinary garden soil in equal amounts. Drainage is added to the bottom. Be sure to make several holes in the container to drain excess moisture. Place the pallet.

Plants are planted one at a time or in small groups. Only the roots are buried. In children, a long "tendril" is sprinkled with earth, with which they were attached to the mother specimen. The leaves are placed at ground level. Water gently, being careful not to hit the center of the outlet.

Experienced growers recommend placing cut plastic bottles on top during this procedure. At the end of watering, it is removed. Squeeze the soil around the roots.

Do not plant plants close to each other. For the resulting babies, a sufficient amount of space is left around the mother plants.

Mixed plantings of varieties with different colors of leaves, sprinkled on the surface of the soil with white, multi-colored crumbs or small pebbles, look especially impressive.

Care

Accumulating moisture reserves in juicy leaves, rejuvenated do not require frequent and abundant watering. It is best to keep the soil slightly moist, but not soggy. Otherwise, you can provoke rotting of the roots or growth points. In summer, it is recommended to water only 1 time in 2 weeks, in winter it is reduced to once a month.

Top dressing for young specimens is not required. Adult plants over 3 years old are fed once every six months with small doses of complex liquid fertilizers for cacti and succulents, reducing the recommended dose by half.

Dumping from small stones does not allow the soil to be compacted during watering, protects the leaves from contact with the ground and decay.

The roots of young rosettes are formed directly under the plate of the lower leaves, close to the surface, therefore it is not recommended to loosen the ground.

Bloom

The buds bloom on the "stone rose" once in a lifetime. After that, the mother plant dries up. Inflorescences are small, but very beautiful with numerous fluffy stamens. A whole scattering of pink or white "stars" is formed on one branch.

If you do not want to lose valuable specimens, then at the beginning of the advancement of the flowering arrow, pinch the growth point.

Such miniature rocky gardens will decorate the interior of any apartment. They will create a festive mood for every day.
