Under natural conditions, this plant is found on the territory of Central Asia, Ukraine, Belarus and all regions of Russia. Small duckweed will grow in abundance in stagnant reservoirs, while most often such a plant will completely cover the entire surface.
Description of the medicinal properties of the duckweed
Lesser duckweed is endowed with very valuable healing properties, the presence of which is recommended to be explained by the content of bromine, flavonoids, anthocyanins, calcium, vanadium, iron, copper salt, a small amount of ascorbic acid, traces of radium, protein and silicon in this plant.
Duckweed will be endowed with a very effective diuretic, desensitizing, antipyretic, hemostatic, antispasmodic, astringent, antimicrobial, tonic, antihelminthic and anti-influenza effect.
As for the traditional medicine of China and Russia, here this plant has become very widespread. In the form of a decoction, this remedy is recommended for vitiligo, urticaria, allergic diseases and angioedema, and as an external remedy, such a decoction is used for snake bites, tumors, carbuncles, erysipelas and conjunctivitis.
In homeopathy, decoctions and infusions prepared on the basis of small duckweed are indicated for use in bronchitis, polyps, bronchial asthma, rhinitis, pharyngitis and laryngitis. For gout, aches and rheumatism, this herb is used as an analgesic poultice.

Alcoholic tincture of small duckweed in the form of drops is used in German folk medicine for rheumatism, inflammation of the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract, jaundice, pharyngitis, laryngitis and chronic persistent rhinitis. Outwardly, the infusion of duckweed is used for wetting and washing ulcers, boils and wounds.
