Impatiens small-flowered is one of the plants of the family called balsamic, in Latin the name of this plant will sound like this: Impatiens parviflora DC. As for the name of the small-flowered touch-me-not family itself, in Latin it will be like this: Balsaminaceae Rich.

Description of touch-me-not small-flowered

Small-flowered touch-me-not is an annual herb, the height of which will fluctuate between thirty and sixty centimeters. This plant is bare, and its root will be fibrous, the stem will be juicy and straight, and is also thickened at the nodes. Leaves of Impatiens small-flowered are either ovate or elliptical, their length is eight to seventeen centimeters, and their width is about four to eight centimeters. Such leaves will be pointed at the top, and also wedge-shaped at the very base. The peduncles of this plant are axillary, they will be equal in length to the leaves and protruding, and are also four to twelve flowered. The flowers of the touch-me-not small-flowered are small, and their length can reach up to one centimeter, they will be painted in lemon-yellow tones, and in the throat they will be endowed with reddish specks. The length of the spur of the outer sepal of this plant will be about four to five millimeters, it can be either straight or clavate. At the end there are petals accreted in two, which are three-lobed with reddish specks.

The flowering of this plant occurs in the period from June to the month of August. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in Central Asia, on the territory of the European part of Russia, in the Dnieper region of Ukraine, as well as in the Altai and Irtysh regions of Western Siberia. For growth, this plant prefers gorges, rocky slopes, places along the banks of rivers, streams, wet places, and can also be found as a weed in vegetable gardens and orchards.

Description of the medicinal properties of Impatiens small-flowered

Small-flowered touch-me-not is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use the herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. Grass includes the leaves, flowers and stems of this plant.

The presence of such valuable medicinal properties should be explained by the content of tannins, triterpene saponins, vitamin C, alkaloids, traces of carotene, coumarins, resins and flavone glycosides in the aerial part of this plant. The leaves will contain vitamin C, carbohydrates, phenol carboxylic acids, anthocyanins in the hydrolyzate, quercetin, leukoanthocyanins and kaempferol. Seeds of touch-me-not small-flowered contain carbohydrate planteose, as well as fatty oil, which contains acetic and paric acid.

For dermatomycosis, it is recommended to use locally fresh crushed leaves of this plant. An extract of the herb of touch-me-not small-flowered will contain antibacterial substances. The infusion prepared on the basis of the aerial part of this plant is endowed with a very effective hemostatic effect, will increase the tone, as well as increase the amplitude of endometrial contractions. In addition, it was experimentally confirmed that an alcoholic extract based on the herb of small-flowered touch-me-not will have both a hemostatic and a rather pronounced uterine effect.

A decoction of the leaves of Impatiens small-flowered is used as a diuretic and hemostatic agent for both hemorrhoidal and uterine bleeding: such a remedy is characterized by a high degree of effectiveness.
