Description of coastal milkweed
Coastal spurge is a perennial herb, the height of which will fluctuate between thirty and eighty centimeters. Such a plant is glabrous and bluish. The root of this plant will be long, many-headed and branched, the stems will be present in large numbers, they are firm, erect and densely leafy, and will also be endowed with six to eight axillary peduncles. The apical peduncles of the coastal milkweed can be from three to five pieces, they are thick and two to three times bipartite. The leaves of the wrapper of this plant will be ovoid, their length is about two centimeters, and the width will be about three to six centimeters. The leaves of the wrappers of this plant are only two pieces and they are reniform. A glass of coastal milkweed will be broadly bell-shaped, its length and diameter are about two to two and a half millimeters, while inside such a glass will be hairy. The three-root of this plant is strongly flattened and turnip, the seed will be ovoid-spherical, and it will be whitish in color.
Fruiting of coastal milkweed occurs in the period from July to August. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in the Caucasus and Crimea. For growth, coastal spurge will prefer sands and places near the sea.
Description of the medicinal properties of coastal milkweed
Coastal spurge is endowed with very valuable medicinal properties, while for medicinal purposes it is recommended to use the entire aerial part of this plant and its milky juice.
The presence of such valuable medicinal properties should be explained by the content in the composition of this plant of saponins, alkaloids, rubber, diterpenoids, triterpenoids, tannins, higher aliphatic carbohydrates, flavonoids, unidentified alcohol with a melting point of seventy-nine degrees, as well as sitosterol, cholesterol, campesterol steroids, lanosterol and stigmasterol.
In the aerial part of this plant, coumarins will be present, sitosterol, escuitin, flavonoids, pinecolic acid, triterpenoids, the highest aliphatic hydrocarbon triacontane will be present in the leaves, while the seeds contain fatty oil.
As for traditional medicine, the coastal spurge is quite widespread here. Such a medicinal plant is used in the form of an herbal infusion to treat anthrax, while milky juice is used to remove nasal polyps, wen, calluses and warts.
A decoction prepared on the basis of the roots of this plant is recommended for use as a laxative, and is also used for rabies. Outwardly, such medicinal products based on coastal milkweed are used for lotions and treatment of wounds. A decoction of this herb is also used as a very effective laxative, while the infusion is used for various heart diseases and jaundice. It is noteworthy that the aboveground part of the coastal milkweed can dye silk and wool green, yellow and black. It is important to remember that the milky sap of this plant will irritate the skin, and once inside, it will irritate the mucous membranes.
