Dinante is a very rare and unusual flower, which should definitely pay attention to all lovers of exoticism. It is noteworthy that until recently this plant was known only to a rather narrow circle of collectors both in Europe and in Russia.
Description of dainante
Translated from Greek, the name of this plant means nothing more than "a wonderful, unusual flower." Dinante is a shrub or herbaceous perennial plant. The homeland of this plant is considered to be Japan and China, here Dainante grows in shady and humid forests. The flowers of this plant are about four centimeters in diameter, they very much resemble products made of translucent wax, which are painted in delicate tones of white, purple or blue. The dainante flower resembles an open bowl, which consists of rounded petals. In the center of such a bowl, there are many brightly colored stamens, they can be both blue and yellow, and even blue. The stamens themselves of this plant resemble a rather fluffy corolla. Flowers are on pedicels and are collected in clusters, which in turn are located in the axils of the upper leaves. It is noteworthy that dainante flowers can be either sterile or bisexual.
Plant stems can reach a height of about forty to sixty centimeters, they grow from narrow rhizomes, and leaves are located on the stems themselves. Dainante leaves are particularly decorative and are painted either in bright green tones or in dark green. The leaves of this plant are opposite and opposite each other. The surface of the leaves is rather rough, the leaves are endowed with deep veins and jagged edges. Actually, in their shape and texture, the leaves of the dainante are very reminiscent of the leaves of a garden hydrangea. The flowering of this plant begins in May and lasts until June. However, this bloom is not annual.
Features of care and cultivation of dainante
Under cultivated conditions, the plant should be grown taking into account all the conditions of existence of Dainante in nature. Especially high temperatures and direct sunlight, as well as drought, are contraindicated for this plant. Dinante should be planted in shady and cool places, which will be reliably protected from possible intense gusts of wind. For example, a neighborhood with low bushes would be an ideal place.
The soil for growing dainant should be fertile and slightly acidic, however, at the same time, it is also loose and light. Such soil must always be sufficiently moistened. As for the composition of the soil, the following mixture seems to be the optimal ratio: garden soil, peat and leaf humus in equal proportions. In order to protect the soil from possible overheating, mulching is recommended.
Top dressing with the help of mineral and organic fertilizers will ensure the formation of dense and lush1 greenery of the plant, and will also contribute to the abundant flowering of the dainante. Organic fertilizers should be applied in early spring, but the plant will need mineral fertilizers throughout its growing season.
This plant is quite frost-resistant and can withstand temperatures as low as minus thirty degrees if this temperature regime does not last very long. However, the aboveground part of the plant is sensitive to heat, so even very small frosts can be fatal for Dainante. For this reason, experts recommend providing reliable protection of the plant from possible cold snaps both in early autumn and late spring.
