The flowers are in bunches at the very top of the stem or in the very axils of the upper leaves, such flowers are wrapped in apical leaves. The corolla of this plant will be dark blue in color. The fruit of this plant is an oblong box with a leg, and the seeds will be linear and reticulate, while they are winged along the entire edge.
Under natural conditions, this plant can be found in Eastern Siberia and the Far East. For growth, the gentian rough prefers shrubs, bumps and damp hummocky meadows.
Description of the medicinal properties of gentian rough
Rough gentian is endowed with quite valuable medicinal properties, while the rhizomes and roots of this plant should be used for medicinal purposes, which should be collected in the autumn period or in early spring. It is recommended to thoroughly clean the rhizomes from the earth and cut into pieces, and then rinse in cold water and leave to dry.
Such valuable healing properties are explained by the content of carbohydrates and related compounds in the plant: fructose, glucose, sucrose, gentianose and genciobiose. This plant also contains the alkaloid gencioflavin and the iridoid tetraacetate gentiopicroside. At the same time, the roots and rhizomes of gentian rough contain gentianin, gentiopicroside, scabroside and trifloroside. At the same time, the stems of this plant contain gentiopicroside, and the leaves contain carbohydrates and related compounds: genciobiosis, gentianosis, sucrose, fructose and glucose.
As for traditional medicine, here a decoction of the roots and rhizomes of this plant is used as a means of stimulating appetite and improving digestion. It is noteworthy that in Chinese and Korean medicine, such drugs can be used as anti-inflammatory and antipyretic for chronic and acute gastritis, as well as for cholangitis, jaundice and hepatitis.
At the same time, in Chinese medicine, a decoction and infusion prepared on the basis of the roots and rhizomes of gentian rough is used for rheumatoid arthritis, diarrhea, encephalitis, hypertension, dyspepsia, ophthalmia and hyperhidrosis. In addition, such funds are also used to strengthen memory, as well as detoxification, anthelmintic and anti-febrile remedies. As for topical application, such agents are used for diseases of the scalp and for skin diseases. In Korea, preparations based on this plant are characterized by a rather effective effect in cystitis, as well as in conjunctivitis, and besides that, also with trophic ulcers, and with tinnitus, and with various epigastric pains.
