How to properly plant muscari in your garden?
Planting flower bulbs can only be started after the preparation of the most favorable soil for culture has been made. Fall is usually the best time to plant. It is most correct to complete the procedure even before the onset of the first frost, that is, before the end of October. Then the muscari bulb will have the possibility of excellent rooting in the ground.
Before direct planting, flower bulbs need to be kept in a room with cool air and a temperature regime of no more than nine degrees Celsius for several days. Then, in cool soil, the bulb adapts very quickly.
It is better to soak the bulb for an hour in a solution with pink potassium permanganate before planting. Only then is it recommended to plant them in the open air. Muscari bulbs are small in size. For this reason, they need to initially dig a full-fledged trench in the garden bed. Its depth should be up to eight centimeters. It is not bad if, at the same time, river sand is poured onto the bottom of the groove. Its layer should be approximately two centimeters. Thus, drainage is created and some protection against diseases and pests is created. The distance between the bulbs during planting is seven centimeters. Soil temperature is eighteen degrees.
