Climbing roses

Climbing roses are called not only some varieties of roses, but also certain types of rose hips. Very long shoots can be considered a distinctive feature of these crops. In general, climbing roses should not contain any classification, but they are nevertheless classified into types of roses with small or large flowers

From gardeners, you just need to invest in planting and some of the nuances of caring for flowers, then his site will be filled not only with a beautiful view, but also with a pleasant expressive aroma.

Climbing roses cannot stand harsh winters. Therefore, they are not grown in the northern regions. Areas with a mild and warm climate will be a suitable location for culture. However, even in the Moscow region, flower growers are not ready to give up such a charm on their territory, and therefore they grow flowers in their personal plots. As a rule, the plant is grown outdoors, but they need to be prepared in a special way for the winter. Climbing roses are also perfect for vertical gardening. Due to its attractive appearance, the culture is often used by landscape designers in the design of gardens. They are used to decorate various elements on the territory - arches, gazebos, walls of structures and others.

Varieties and types of climbing roses

Climbing roses are not really vines or a class of climbing plants, as many gardeners think. Unlike similar cultures, climbing roses do not have antennae or suction components necessary for vines. In order for the flowers to grow up, it is necessary to prepare the required help for them. Climbing roses can be divided into two groups. One consists of plants with small flowers and is called Rambler. Climbers are large-flowered climbing rose plants.

Rambler

Rambler are called climbing roses, characterized by a fine structure of creeping or slightly drooping shoots. The highest height that bushes of such flowers can reach is from four to six meters. It is these varieties of roses that feel great on vertical-type supporting elements. Such flowers are especially common in Russia in cities and summer cottages near Moscow.

Rambler have miniature inflorescences, sometimes even tiny ones. The approximate diameter is three centimeters. These flowers are usually found in the same clusters or bunches. Unlike many other types of climbing roses. These flowers are not located at the top of the bush, but are spread over its entire surface. Another feature of ramblers is the faint smell of flowers or its complete absence. Inflorescences are formed, as a rule, on the shoots left over from the last year. The color palette of the plant is varied - yellow, white, pale pink and other flowers. The peak of the blooming phase for ramblers occurs in July, in particular, in its middle. Abundant and lush flowering continues for about forty-five to fifty days.

Rambler belong to the group of roses that are frost-resistant. However, in order to constantly observe the attractive appearance of this culture, it is required to remove them from the vertical supporting element for the winter season, and then cover them with spruce branches. But here it is worth considering the fact that it is not so easy to shoot roses. The difficulty lies precisely in the large number of thorns and the length of the stalks. At the same time, the weight of such shrubs is considerable. Frozen shoots must be cut off. Rumbler varieties are striking in their variety.

Dorothy Perkins is one of the most popular varieties used by gardeners to decorate a plot. It is characterized by a fine structure of the stem and small inflorescences with a faint aroma. The shade here is pink, but most often it is very pale. Such a plant feels great even in the regions of central Russia. The Rambling Rector is a climbing rose variety that can grow up to six meters in height. Does not tolerate frosts below twenty-three degrees of cold.

Climbers

Climbers are actually hybrids. Breeders got them by crossing ramblers and tea roses. The main features of such plants are firm and straight stems. Vertical support is not needed here at all. Shrubs can be up to six meters high. Large flowers are usually cone-shaped. The flowering phase sometimes occurs twice a year. Such climbing roses perfectly tolerate frost, and also have resistance to fungal diseases.
