If the fruit is soft enough to the touch, it means that it is ripe and ready to eat.
Slightly immature fruits ripen easily at home. But if they have dark spots or their skin is damaged, this indicates that the valuable product has begun to deteriorate.
As for the persimmon of the Korolek variety, it is slightly different from the persimmons of all other varieties - the peel of ripe fruits is usually painted in a dark orange color.
The best stored persimmon of hard varieties without seeds - soft fruits cannot boast of the ability to long-term storage.
Cold storage
Nutritious persimmon is highly perishable. In the refrigerator, it is usually stored along with all other fruits, however, persimmons must be consumed within the next three days. If you want to keep the wonderful fruits longer, then it is best to place them on a shelf with a zero temperature (the ideal humidity will be 90%). In this case, temperature drops are extremely undesirable.
As a rule, persimmons are stored in the refrigerator in open paper bags or containers. In this form, it can be preserved for two to three months.
And even better, persimmon will be preserved if you put it in the freezer - this approach allows you not only to save juicy fruits from the tart aftertaste, but also to preserve all the useful properties in them. Moreover, fruits stored in the freezer often become much sweeter. Only after defrosting, the persimmon can lose its previous consistency, however, this will in no way affect its taste. In principle, persimmons can also be frozen in sugar syrup.
In the event that persimmon is closely adjacent to other fruits in the refrigerator, it is recommended to eat it as soon as possible, otherwise the processes of its further ripening and subsequent decay will develop very intensively.
Dry persimmon
Dried persimmons are stored just fine! The peel is first removed from all the fruits, after which they are sent to dry in an oven preheated to forty-five degrees for forty minutes.

In order for the persimmons to retain their freshness as best as possible, the fruits must be regularly ventilated. The fact is that oxygen deficiency or its absence significantly reduces the shelf life of this valuable product. Also, do not remove the stalks from the fruit - if you neglect this recommendation, the shelf life of persimmons will also be noticeably reduced. And if you do not provide the stored fruits with a sufficient level of air humidity, they will quickly dry out, and their surface will begin to be covered with small wrinkles.
If you want the persimmon to become sweeter, they put it in one paper bag with apples and tomatoes for several days.
And if the harvest of persimmons was too abundant, the fruits can be stored on the balcony. To this end, they are placed in wooden boxes equipped with small holes - this will provide the fruits with much-needed ventilation. The fruits of the lower row are placed with the cups down, and the cups of the fruits of the upper row should always look up. For best storage, you can lightly sprinkle the fruit and sawdust.
