For what reasons can tomatoes have problems? Why do tomatoes suddenly lose their glossy appearance on the bushes and become so gloomy? Let's see how we can help them in this or that problematic case

Correct plant feeding

You have to face it - tomatoes are very capricious vegetables. With improper care of them, they will not be silent, but will immediately let the owner-vegetable grower know that they are sick. Rolled leaves can be such a common sos signal in tomatoes.

Leaf curling in tomatoes can be for various reasons. Sometimes twisting of the foliage leads to massive damage to the crop and to the complete unsuitability of the fruit for food. To prevent this from happening, firstly, you need to properly feed the tomatoes.

Do not abuse herbal infusions when feeding, nitrogen, organic fertilizers. Their supersaturation in the soil creates a lack of other important elements, such as potassium, phosphorus, zinc. Tomatoes also do not like feeding them with slurry, as it can burn the foliage. Fertilize tomatoes so that feeding is regulated as follows.

• Tomatoes should be fertilized with “solution”, stirring the product in the amount of two tablespoons for every ten liters of water;

• Potassium monophosphate should be fertilized by diluting one teaspoon of the substance in 10 liters of water.

Secondly, tomatoes can and should be mulched soil, which will give the necessary organic matter to the root system of plants and protect them from oversaturation with moisture.

Influence of air temperatures on the plant

The high-temperature stress that it is experiencing can also curl the leaves on the plant. For example, the heat in summer heat, reaching 35 degrees C and above, gradually kills the plant. Therefore, in the heat it follows:

• to make enhanced ventilation of the area where tomatoes grow, to arrange drafts for them;

• shade tomato bushes with lutrasil;

• treat plant foliage with urea, diluting one and a half tablespoons of the substance for every 10 liters of water;

• two days after treatment with urea, treat the plant with a strong infusion of manganese.

If done correctly, the curling tops of the plants will straighten out after a few days.

Plant bacteria

Viruses, bacteria can be the direct instigators of the death of a plant and twisting of its foliage. As a result of their defeat, not only the leaves on the plant curl, but the fruits themselves turn black and rot.

In order for a plant to resist diseases, it is required to comply with the conditions for caring for it, indicated above. It is also necessary to dress the seeds before planting them on the seedlings. When collecting your own seeds, the material should only be collected from healthy fruits and plants.

If tomatoes are sick, immediately treat them with fungicidal preparations that will protect them, prevent bacteria from multiplying, and nourish the plant.

Withering leaves on tomato bushes

Leaves on tomatoes may start to wilt. The cause of this incident is fusarium wilting. Greenhouse tomatoes often suffer from this problem, and tomatoes planted on open soil usually get sick in the southern part of Russia. First, the shoots of tomatoes wither, then the leaves, then Fusarium captures the entire plant and fruits.

Fusarium spreads quickly if the moisture in the soil is constantly increased and there is an excess of nitrogen as fertilizer. You can catch the "virus" when planting seedlings, when watering, when loosening the soil. To avoid this problem you need to:

• plant tomatoes in places where there were no fruit diseases last season;

• ruthlessly destroy the collected residues from the affected parts of the plant, it is better to burn it outside the garden;

• disinfect the greenhouse soil with a solution of copper sulfate, dissolving the substance in an amount of 60 grams in ten liters of water;

• huddle tomato bushes that have reached a height of more than 15 centimeters;

• treat tomatoes with fungicides on time.

Why do tomato leaves dry?

Such an attack on tomato bushes, as late blight, contributes to the drying of the foliage of the plant. Late blight occurs due to improper drinking regime of plants and improperly controlled room temperature, if tomatoes grow in a greenhouse.

Alas, late blight destroys not only the green part of the bush, but also the fruit itself, quickly spreading from the plant to the neighboring one. Thus, the entire crop can quickly perish.

In order to avoid the appearance of phytophthora on the leaves in dry, calm weather, it is necessary to prevent the disease. In a rainy summer, it needs to be increased. Ripe fruits should not be treated with substances against late blight! It is necessary to do this while the fruits are still green, brown, even better if the fruit ovary has just appeared.

A solution of ash with water "works" well against late blight, as well as prophylactic agents containing copper.
