Such a berry crop belongs to the Rosaceae family, a type of plant that bears fruit for more than one year. Garden strawberries are widespread not only in Russia, but also in America, the European and Asian parts of the world. All over the world, you can find about five dozen different varieties of berries, but garden strawberries are much more popular and in demand than forest varieties. It will not work to meet the garden type of strawberry in the wild, since special conditions are needed for its cultivation. For the first time, such a berry became known in the eighteenth century in the Netherlands. Many scientists are of the opinion that the appearance of garden strawberries occurred due to the crossing of two other varieties - the Chilean and Virginian cultures.

This type of strawberry culture can be found in almost every garden. The growing process itself often takes place without difficulties and problems. A huge space in the garden is not needed here, and chemical fertilizers are almost never used. However, in order to plant garden strawberries, it is necessary to choose areas open to sunlight and light. It is better to avoid the lowlands in the area where the berries will be subject to frost in the spring.

The fruits of garden strawberries are usually eaten fresh, although sometimes summer residents create favorable storage conditions for it in the form of freezing or canning. Also, berries will be a great dessert. The composition of garden strawberries contains vitamin C necessary for the human body. Despite the fact that there is a wide variety of varieties of such strawberries, it is required to select the appropriate type of berry for a specific region and climate.

Planting soil

When sowing seedlings, it is required to ensure that the core of the bushes is not covered with soil. In other words, the plant must be placed in the ground exactly along the neck of the root system. The first feeding of beds with garden strawberries is carried out already in the first fruitful year. In the spring, during intensive leaf development and after the end of the harvest, nitrogen-based fertilizers are applied to the soil.
