Different varieties of vines differ in many ways. Although all vines love space, freedom and will, many of them feel no less comfortable in other conditions.

How to get passionflower seedlings?

First you need to buy fresh new plant seeds. This condition is of particular importance, if only because in the first year only about thirty percent of the seeds will germinate, and by the second year this figure will drop to as much as two percent. If you need to choose the most unpretentious liana to care for, then it is better to pay attention to blue passionflower. At home, such a plant is grown quite often.

The medium for growing passionflower is very easy to prepare at home. To do this, it is necessary to mix the same proportions of peat, humus, sand, leafy earth. After cooking, the soil must be placed on a pallet in an even layer and put in a hot oven for ten minutes. After the soil mixture has cooled, it is poured into a special saucer where the seeds will germinate.

If you do not carry out the initial treatment of the seeds, then it can take about twelve months before the first shoots. At the same time, it is also very difficult to create special conditions for normal seed germination. Experienced growers use accelerated germination methods. One way or another, but the seeds must undergo scarification to damage the upper shell of the seed.

The next step is to soak the seeds. In the water for germination, you need to add special stimulants in the form of Zircon, Epin or something similar. Seeds are placed to a depth of half a centimeter, where they are germinated in a bright place. The temperature in this case should vary from twenty-eight to thirty-five degrees. Additional heating should also be located below. The first shoots can be seen in a couple of weeks, if the variety of lianas is easy to grow, or after three months, if the variety is difficult to grow - for example, edible passionflower.

Before the seeds of the creeper begin to germinate, it is required to keep them in a solution of hydrogen peroxide with a concentration of three percent. For one day, they are also soaked in distilled water. Those seeds that float will need to be removed altogether. Only swollen prepared seeds are placed in the solution. The shell at the top of the seeds should burst. Transfer the seeds to another container with hydrogen peroxide and close tightly. Then they put the container with seeds in a warm but dark place until the first shoots appear. Only when the first sprouts appear will it be possible to open the jar. They take out the seeds with a clean tool. The rest of the seeds should be placed in a specially prepared different solution. Seeds with seedlings need to be transplanted and timely care should be taken.

There is one interesting trick with which you can create excellent conditions for the germination of even the most difficult germinating seeds. For this, the container with the sown seeds must be covered with a film, and also ensure a constant change in temperature. In the daytime, the temperature should reach thirty, and at night, ten degrees. Then the sprouts will need to be transplanted separately from each other into separate glasses, the minimum diameter of which is seven centimeters.
