Beautiful hats of fragrant flowers resemble a bride's outfit. I would like to sit near the beautiful bushes, inhaling the wonderful delicate smells. Loved specimens can be propagated independently. What methods of increasing planting material are suitable for garden jasmine?

Breeding types

Chubushnik easily multiplies in several ways:

• seeds;

• layering;

• root suckers;

• division of adult specimens;

• cuttings.

Let's consider each option in more detail.

Seed method

The seed method is suitable for patient gardeners. 3-5 years pass from germination to flowering. Most often it is used by breeders to develop new hybrids. Varieties with simple inflorescences, sometimes give abundant self-seeding near old bushes.

Seeds do not require long-term stratification for germination. Good germination is maintained for 1 year when stored in a refrigerator in a tightly closed container.

Planting material is sown in two ways:

1. In late autumn, before the onset of stable frosts, the seeds are laid out in the grooves on the previously prepared ridges. Sprinkle with a thin layer of peat. Throw in branches or straw for better snow retention. In the spring, they remove the shelter.

2. At the beginning of the season, they dig the ground with a shovel bayonet, level the soil with a rake. Through the arcs, cover the bed with a film. The seeds are soaked in a gauze bag in water for 1 hour. Germinate for 3 days at room temperature, covered with a bag. After warming up the soil, they are sown in a greenhouse.

Shoots appear in 1-2 weeks. Youngsters dive in the phase of 3-4 leaves with a distance of 10-15 cm. By autumn, bushes 20-25 cm high are formed, ready for transplantation to a permanent place.

Seedling care consists in regular watering, fertilizing 2 times a season with complex fertilizers for flowers, removing weeds, loosening row spacings.

Rooting cuttings

Winter cuttings of last year's growth, cut in early spring or green, slightly lignified summer shoots, are used for rooting. Divide the branches into parts with two pairs of buds. The lower leaves are removed completely, the upper ones are shortened by half.

The lower oblique cut is powdered with root. Cuttings are placed in partial shade. They dig the earth on the bayonet of the shovel, add loosening components: river sand, peat. Mix with the original soil. Grooves are cut every 25 cm, spilled with water until the top layer is completely saturated.

A stick pierce holes every 10 cm. Stick the cuttings at an angle, press the soil around the stem. Cover the beds through the arcs with a film. Throughout the season, the moisture of the earthen coma is monitored, preventing it from drying out. Remove germinating weeds.

With a favorable outcome, after a month, the dormant buds at the base of the leaf start to grow, a powerful fibrous root system is formed. For the winter, the young are covered with non-woven material.

In the second year, for better tillering, the shoots are cut, leaving 2-3 lower buds. In the fall, ready-made seedlings are placed in a permanent place.

Diversion method

To form a young one-year-old shoot, a year before breeding, several branches are cut off along the edges of the bush at a level of 5-10 cm from the ground. In early spring of the next season, an incision is made in the bark at the bottom of the shoot or a wire bundle is applied in 2-3 turns, stimulating the formation of roots.

Dig a depression next to the mother liquor, lay the prepared stems, fix with an iron pin. Moisten the earth, form a mound on top of light fertile soil. Cover with a dark non-woven fabric capable of retaining moisture. The maximum number of branches taken from one adult specimen is not more than 30.

Several times a season, additional hilling of the butt site is carried out, bringing the height of the embankment to 20 cm. During the summer, the soil moisture is monitored. Sprinkle with water if necessary.

In the fall, they dig out the place of the ditch, checking for the presence of roots. Powerful seedlings are separated from an adult bush. Transplanted for growing in a garden bed. After a year, the young are ready to be transplanted to a permanent place.

From the proposed breeding options, each gardener can choose the most appropriate method for his site. Planting material of excellent quality will be a good gift for loved ones, will decorate the sunny corners of the garden with new specimens of dazzling white jasmine inflorescences.
