They can be mixed with other ingredients, made as spray solutions, and applied as applicators.
1. Cedar oil
Visible insects and scale insects are expelled from the garden using cedarwood oil, which irritates their skin. For people, the smell of cedar is harmless, even has a healing effect. But if cedarwood oil gets on your skin or eyes, it can cause irritation. It is difficult to wash it off. Therefore, be careful when spraying oil in windy conditions. It is advisable to carry out pollination with cedar oil in cloudy weather or in the evening. Its effect continues for a long time.
2. Eucalyptus oil
It has a detrimental effect on flies. It is enough to cut out small strips of fabric and dip them in natural eucalyptus oil. Then you need to hang them in the yard, on the porch of the house and in other places. The smell of eucalyptus is popular with humans, but not with insect pests. The oil is an excellent natural pesticide that white flies, ticks, aphids, and earwigs are afraid of. The aroma of this remedy will be able to scare away these pests from the garden and home.
Preparation of a spray from eucalyptus oil: a teaspoon of natural oil is mixed in a glass container with a teaspoon of natural soap. 2 glasses of water are added to them. To use the solution as a pesticide, you need to add another teaspoon of oil to the mixture. Then the composition is sprayed onto mulch and large plants.
3. Neem oil (margose)
Allows you to effectively fight snails, slugs, moths, caterpillars and other pests. Care must be taken - the high concentration of the oil burns the plants. It should be sprayed in cloudy weather or in the evening, more than once - until the pests disappear completely. Spray not only from above, but also from the back of the leaves, where insects often hide. Neem oil has a strong smell, but it is harmless to humans.
4. Garlic oil
Effective in the fight against garden rodents - mice, bears, moles. The smell of garlic is not tolerated by most herbivores: rabbits, hares, squirrels, deer, foxes, coyotes, gophers and insects. Similar to garlic oil, garlic infusion also acts on them.
For cooking, garlic must be collected when four dead shoots or leaves appear on it. After collecting the garlic, you need to dry it, and then prepare the garlic oil:
* Chop 10 cloves of garlic and mix with 2 teaspoons of any vegetable oil.
* Add to a cup of water containing a teaspoon of natural soap.
5. Peppermint oil (peppermint)
Effective against spiders and slugs. It is not recommended to spray peppermint oil directly onto spiders - these insects have their olfactory organs in their feet, so they will not walk on surfaces covered with peppermint oil. It is better to spray oil around them, in places of their accumulation and the appearance of cobwebs.
It is advisable to process storage areas for gardening tools, clothes, gloves, corners of rooms where insects usually like to start. They prefer dark, secluded places for their refuge. Places treated with mint oil repel spiders, and they will no longer want to weave their webs there. At the same time, the spiders do not die, but only retreat and go to look for other, more suitable places for their habitat.
To make a peppermint oil spray:
To dilute peppermint oil, liquids are used in which it dissolves easily (in vinegar or vodka). You can also use water, but in this case the water is mixed with natural soap. The spray must be prepared in a glass container (jar, bottle). It is necessary to mix the following components:
* Liquid for oil dilution - 250-300 grams.
* Natural peppermint oil - 50 drops.
* Dishwashing detergent (if oil is diluted in water).
When using water to dilute the oil, shake the composition every time before use.
