She is not at all like her sisters from the Astrov family. The graceful simplicity of cosmea captivates at first sight and remains in the heart forever. Words cannot explain her charm. Kosmeya seemed to have descended from heaven, illuminating the space around her with an ingenuous warm light

There are many comrades in taste and color

Kosmeya, although it came to us from the tropical forests of America, but without much effort, easily took root in our harsh climate.

Its simplicity is not at all that which is worse than theft. Its simplicity is full of charm and aristocratic grace. She fascinates everyone who has met her at least once in their life, refuting the saying about the absence of companions when it comes to taste or color. Looking at cosme, all people become close friends, imbued with the simplicity and beauty of the entire living world, requiring nothing in return.

I highlighted this flower in a school flower bed when I was ten years old. Not knowing its name, I fell in love with it, although there were more pretentious flowers on the flowerbed. I learned the name of the flower as an adult. It upset me because it was associated with the word "shaggy". And only with the advent of the World Wide Web, I appreciated the correctness of the name of the flower - Kosmeya, Cosmos - it could not have been more precise. Looking at a flower, a feeling of depth and infinity of the Universe is born, complex and simple at the same time, and also a nostalgic feeling of losing something very important. Maybe through a simple flower there is a connection between a person and his house, from which he came to this world. After all, somewhere we were when we were not here.

Someone, perhaps, my words will seem invented. But Those who, at least once in their lives, felt an inexplicable nostalgia that came from, will understand me. Such is it, a simple flower, the messenger of the Universe.

Growing conditions

Kosmeya is true to herself and in relation to the conditions of her existence. It is unpretentious, not afraid of the cold, does not require too much attention to fertilize the soil on which it grows. It is worth throwing seeds into the ground once in early spring, and every year she herself will take care that new cosmos bushes sprout in this place every year, delighting with the abundance and decorative flowering. Moreover, if you decide to relocate her to another site, she will not mind and will easily transfer the transplant.

The thicker the cosmos grows, the more abundant its flowering. Conversely, the less frequent the bushes, the fewer flowers. The unpretentiousness of the cosmos does not negate its watering in the hot season, removing weeds and loosening the soil. To maintain the duration and abundance of flowering, faded flowers must be removed. However, this is a general rule for all colors.

In a sunny place, kosmeya blooms more abundantly than in the shade.

Varieties of cosme

Cosmeya double-feathered

It is characterized by large (up to 10 centimeters in diameter) flowers that turn the flower bed into a colorful carpet of patches of white, pink, purple, red shades. Tall erect stems (80-150 centimeters) will serve as a decorator for old walls of a house or an unprepossessing fence, hide a box of compost from prying eyes. They can frame paths in the garden, build live borders.

According to the color of flowers, there are several varieties of double-pinned cosmos:

* Dazzler - bright red flowers that change color to crimson as they bloom.

* Purity - the color of freshly fallen snow that reflects the sun's rays.

* Radiance is a tricolor flower, the yellow center of which is surrounded by delicate lilac petals, with a denser color closer to the center.

* Sonata - undersized kosmeya with white flowers and a yellow core. Has varieties with a different color of petals - pink, bright crimson.

Kosmeya sulfur-yellow

It is characterized by a smaller size of flowers (up to 5 centimeters in diameter), loves warm summers. The name already reflects the color scheme, although today flowers of this type of cosmos with other colors have been bred.

Sulfur-yellow cosme varieties

* Bilbo is a low-growing plant with orange semi-double flowers.

* Crest Lemon - undersized kosmeya with yellow-lemon flowers.

Tireless breeders have bred kosmeya with double flowers and kosmeya blood-red. Perhaps this is someone to their liking, but nothing remained of a simple graceful cosme. Personally, these delights leave me indifferent.

Healing properties

To date, no medicinal properties for healing the body have been noticed behind the cosmos, but it heals the human soul successfully.
