Dubravnaya anemone
Dubravnaya anemone also has a second name - anemone. The plant is very beautiful, up to 20 centimeters high with leaves separating into 3 parts. Each plant "throws out" only one six-petaled flower, predominantly white, occasionally you can find pale pink and light lilac flowers. Duration of flowering is about 20 days. By the way, this plant is called the messenger of spring, since after its appearance it begins to become warmer.
Despite the fact that outwardly the flower resembles a snowdrop, it belongs to the buttercup family and is listed in the Red Book, as it is on the verge of extinction. This is due to the fact that the appearance of the flower makes you want to pick a delicate bouquet, and if you pick the flower, the root system will be disrupted and the plant will die. In addition, anemone is used as a medicinal plant: it is often added to various medicines for the treatment of sexual weakness and skin diseases. Attention: since the flower is poisonous, in no case should you prepare various decoctions and infusions from it yourself!
Anemone Dubravnaya is very fond of shady and well-moistened areas, the best place for planting it is the northern side of the site near various buildings and in the shade of trees with a dense crown. The anemone is quite demanding on the soil: it prefers loose fertile soils. It reproduces mainly by dividing the bush, this operation is performed in July, when the aboveground part of the plant has already completely died out. It is very difficult to get sprouts from seeds.
The anemone practically does not require care: it does not need watering, weeding and regular fertilization. The only thing is that you can apply a little mineral fertilizers during the budding period, then the plant will thank you with lush flowering.
By the way, if you don't divide the bush, then in a few years you will get a clearing completely overgrown with an oak tree anemone.
Lily of the valley
Delicate white lily of the valley bells, perhaps, will not leave anyone indifferent. By the way, lily of the valley, like anemone, is listed in the Red Book. This plant prefers shaded, but not completely shady, moist areas with fertile, loose soil. Lily of the valley easily tolerates a lack of moisture, it will not die in a rather dry spring, but at the same time it does not like completely shaded places, there it begins to grow leaves and stops blooming.
Propagated by pieces of rhizomes in spring or autumn, but does not like the frequent change of "place of residence". Therefore, it is advisable to immediately plant it in a permanent flower bed, where no one will touch the lily of the valley for several years.
This spring flower does not need special care and grows and blooms beautifully without any human intervention. But in dry weather, it is advisable to regularly moisten the soil and occasionally apply fertilizers or compost to the flowerbed, then the plant will feel good and please with abundant flowering.
Despite its fragile appearance, lily of the valley is a real invader. He easily conquers new territories, even those that you did not plan to give him. Therefore, if you decide to plant lilies of the valley in your area, you will have to take care of restraining the plant: you can fence the flower bed with a dug-in metal partition or curb, deepening the fence into the ground by at least 50 centimeters.
Also, hosta, various types of ferns, geraniums, large astrantia, hollow corydalis, foxglove grow well from perennial plants in the shade.
