The versatility of application, unpretentiousness make this culture an indispensable participant in the decoration of any site. The main thing is to learn how to properly care for the bushes, observing certain agrotechnical techniques
Landing
Whole-leaved clematis is planted in full sun, upright can withstand partial shade. The close location of the water table, planting next to roof drains, causes root rot. The transplant is planned in Central Russia in the spring, in the southern regions - in the fall.
The plant lives in one place for a long time, so the soil is prepared thoroughly.
Dig a hole with a depth and diameter of 50 cm. A drainage layer of crushed limestone is laid on the bottom. The volume is filled with a mixture of garden soil, rotted organic matter or peat, sand in a ratio of 1: 3: 1. As an initial fertilizer, 50-100 g of nitroammofoski are scattered onto the pit. Acidic soils are neutralized by adding dolomite flour.
In plants, the roots are straightened: the cord-like ones are oriented downward, the rhizome is placed horizontally on the surface. The root collar is slightly deepened by 2-3 cm. It is well spilled with a solution of potassium permanganate. Top mulch with sawdust.
Low-growing annuals (marigolds, lobelia, gatsania, alyssum) are planted under the clematis's "legs" to prevent the soil from overheating in hot, sunny hours.
The first few days, the seedlings are shaded from the bright sun with newspapers. After a week, the shelter is removed. Simultaneously with the landing, props are installed. The distance between individual bushes is set at 0.8-1 meter, depending on the spreading of the variety.
Care
Clematis is rarely watered, but abundantly. Young crops are especially sensitive to lack of moisture during the period of active growth. In adult specimens, a powerful root system itself provides water for the plant. Bushes are sprayed at the root early in the morning, trying not to touch the leafy part in order to prevent sunburn.
Young plantings are fed more often, adults - 2 times per season after preliminary soil moisture. At the beginning of the regrowth of the green mass, nettle infusion is given, diluted 1:10. The second dressing, at the time of flowering, with a complex fertilizer "Kemira Lux", a table spoon without a slide on a bucket of liquid.
Gently loosen the soil around the plants. Weeds are removed in a timely manner. The mulching layer is renewed annually, replacing it with a fresh one.
After heavy rains, ash is scattered around the bushes. It absorbs excess moisture well, preventing pathogenic fungi from multiplying.
Pruning, garter
The absence of antennae excludes the possibility of plants clinging on their own. Therefore, special supports are installed for bushes above 1 meter. The most suitable forms would be:
• pyramids;
• props with a ring in several levels;
• pegs;
• horizontal and vertical grid.
The support, painted in green, will imperceptibly merge with clematis bushes, without disturbing its aesthetic appearance. For the garter, use strong twine or pieces of wire. The operation begins in early June, when the plants reach a height of 50cm. Regularly, the growing stems are tied to a support in several places throughout the summer.
Strong winds in open areas can break lignified stems. Even so, the plants find the strength to set seeds. If you cut off the broken branches, then new shoots will go from the root, blooming again closer to autumn.
For the winter, the stems are removed, leaving sticks 15-20cm long. In the spring they are carefully cut with pruning shears. Do not jerk them with your hands, otherwise you may pull out the dry branch along with the buds.
Subject to all agricultural techniques, bush forms of clematis are practically not susceptible to disease and pests. They winter well without shelter. They do not create problems when growing. They will perfectly fit into the landscape of your garden, giving it a special charm, pleasing the eye with bright colors all summer long.

In addition, if you do this in October, the seedling will have time to root well before frost, and during the winter the soil will settle well near the shrub.
