Under natural conditions, this plant is found in Central Asia, in the Okhotsk, Amur and Kamchatka regions in the Far East, in the European and Eastern Arctic, in the Altai region of Western Siberia and in all regions of Eastern Siberia with the exception of only the Yenisei region. For growth, lomatogonium spicate prefers pebbles, wet swamps, sea coasts, wet gravelly slopes, lowlands in the mountains, places on the banks of reservoirs and in the floodplains of rivers.
