Sufficiently large drupe fruits are collected in fancy tassels and can be either red or with a slight orange tint. Each berry consists of four parts, each containing one of a very decent size. Such fruits ripen in July or August. The juicy pulp of the berries boasts a splendid sour taste, vaguely reminiscent of a pomegranate. It was for this plant that it got its second name - "northern pomegranate".
Where grows
On personal plots, this beautiful berry practically does not occur, since it is considered a forest one. At the same time, she feels best in the vastness of humid coniferous forests.
On the territory of Russia, this plant can be seen in most areas of its European part, with the exception of the extreme south. It is found both in the Far Eastern regions and in Siberia. And in Central Russia it will not be difficult to contemplate in all areas (mainly in coniferous forests).
Application
