The zealous owner always plans to use every square meter. A non-standard space with sloping walls often causes difficulties with landscaping. Let's learn to divide the room into functional zones

Design

Thinking over the arrangement of the attic floor begins at the construction stage and is taken into account when drawing up a plan. The usable area depends on the roof configuration. It is known that the lean-to noticeably "eats up" the useful footage. Broken, on the contrary, makes it possible to organize full-fledged rooms.

Based on this, a set of living and auxiliary areas, the size of the premises and their location are determined. In the future, such foresight facilitates the work of laying an electric cable, installing sockets / switches, laying communications and heating.

Features of the attic layout

A standard house has a roof space that can accommodate up to two rooms. Larger buildings allow you to divide the space into 2-4 rooms, allocate space for a bathroom, dressing room, hall. Shed roofs suggest compact placement of cozy mini-rooms.

Low places at the junction of the walls with the roof are allocated for the storage room. For living rooms, places are chosen with access to natural light and the possibility of ventilation - with an opening window. If a toilet and a bathroom are arranged, then this block should be located above the plumbing unit of the first floor and have a single riser with it.

Zoning rules and examples

There are no standard rules for mastering the attic. Individual preferences only. But still, most often on the second floor there is space for a children's room and bedrooms. Definitely, this place is not suitable for elderly people and parents with an infant, the reason is the unfavorable household distance from central objects. Moving along a down-up trajectory is not always convenient and especially difficult in old age.

Bedroom

When creating the environment, observe the following parameters: from the edge of the bed to the bevel of the ceiling, there should be 1.7 m. If the headboard is facing the wall, then a free area of 0.6 m is left on the other sides. Comfortable bedroom for two is 12 sq. m. In such conditions, additional bedside tables, a chest of drawers or a mini-wardrobe will fit.

Children

Following the standards for one child, 6 sq. m. If it is assumed that there will be a play area, then it is advisable to allocate 10-12 square meters. m. Two rooms are created for two children of different sexes.

"Dead" zones

A popular technique for zoning the attic is the elimination of dead zones, which are located in the corners of the floor-to-roof connection. Here it is reasonable to make closed niches, systems for storing things (shelves, drawers, boxes). There are interesting options for combinations of false walls and heating system laying.

Shed roof

The functionality of the attic is achieved with the proper use of every centimeter of the sidewalls of the ramp. The complexity of the arrangement comes from the contradictions of standard thinking. There are practically no vertical walls here, and instead of them the ceiling hangs, such a phenomenon excludes the possibility of placing dimensional furniture. This disadvantage is solved by installing racks, shelves, niches. In the recessed compartments, it is quite possible to put low pedestals, chests of drawers.

Sloping roof

There is a natural relationship between the interior and the functional purpose of the zone. The option of a high, sloping roof expands the possibilities of use. There can be any premises for the purpose, including a living room, an office, a hall with a billiard table. Large areas are effectively zoned using lighting, contrasting textures, color shades. For separation, you can use screens or erect small floor drops with an imitation of a podium.

Attic furniture

In a miniature room, a single principle of arrangement of the situation operates: the middle is not involved, and all objects are placed along the walls. Large-sized furniture is practically not used. Lightweight modular elements are appropriate here, they are easier to move, install and assemble. Such interior objects make it possible to combine and update the environment. The end sections of the walls go under the shelves for linen and books.

The sofa is always located in a niche under the slope parallel to the wall. The bed can be placed with the headboard to the roof. In any case, make sure that you can sit / stand without hitting the ceiling. If a desktop is supposed to be introduced, then it is placed close to the wall, but at the same time you need to make sure that you can stand at the table at full height.

If there is a free meter in the corner, an imitation of a corner cabinet is made. You can cope with this on your own: guide bars are nailed, a door is hung, shelves are stuffed, or a hanger bar is installed.
