The bewitching effect of live fire always attracts, relaxes, relieves stress, warms. A bio fireplace is an excellent option that is suitable for any room, does not require chimney laying and is easy to operate. This wonderful device does not emit smoke and soot when burning, has a modern design and is practically safe. Let's talk about how to choose and use a bio fireplace
Properties and purpose
When operating a biofireplace in city apartments on the territory of Russia, no approval is required from the sanitary and epidemiological station, fire inspection. Works on an environmentally friendly product "Biethanol", with a slight formation of H2O and CO2, which is harmless to others, since the scanty release is comparable to human breathing. The amount of carbon dioxide is comparable to burning two candles. As a result of the work, there is no fumes, soot, fumes, smoke.
The liquid is commercially available and inexpensive. Packing in displacement: 1, 5; 2, 5; 5. For an hour of operation, an average of 0.36 liters is consumed, therefore a heating block with a volume of 2.5 liters provides continuous combustion for 10 hours, the heat transfer efficiency is 95%. For desktop and small models, it is permissible to use helium fuel.
First of all, a biofireplace is designed to generate heat, and is also perfect for home decoration. It does not need additional ventilation and a chimney. Easily transported to various places, allowed for use in apartments, offices, restaurants, country houses.
Types of biofireplaces
Any design consists of a heating block, housing, decorative elements. All models are divided into stationary and portable, differ in shape and material quality (cast iron, glass, metal). The case is semi-closed and open. Depending on the number of burners, they have different outputs. For example, the presence of two burners is enough to heat a room of 18 sq. meters. The most common types:
- floor biofireplaces, which differ little from ordinary wood-burning counterparts. Well suited for niche installations.
- corner, have a special design, for placement in an empty corner of the room.
- wall-mounted models, made of iron, have a protective screen made of heat-resistant glass.
Table-top options are a miniature imitation of a hearth, they have a decorative and entertainment purpose. The base is made of metal, the upper part is completely glass.
Hanging ones are considered as an original design element, they are small-sized, the flame is covered with a glass cover. They are made in various styles and types (candelabra, shelves, hanging pots).
Built-in ones are large in size and are an exact copy of traditional fireplaces.
How to choose a biofireplace
Before buying, decide what you are buying a fireplace for: heating, comfort in the bedroom, styling the room. If you want to use it as a heating device, then take into account the area of the room, for example, for 20 m2, a stationary, not cumbersome option is sufficient. Considering the financial costs of fuel, it is irrational to buy a powerful fireplace in a small room.
It is important to correctly correlate the design and provide for the location of the future location. The intensity and brightness of the fire depends on the length of the heating block. More heat will be given by a device equipped with several combustion units, which are indicated in the technical characteristics in watts. For example, for a room of 20 m2 1.5 thousand watts is enough, for a room of 30 m2 - 2-2.5. More than 60 m2 - 3 thousand watts.
When buying a floor-standing bio fireplace, choose one made of thick metal or cast iron - this is a guarantee of durability. Check the fuel block, it must have even seams, no damage or cracks.
Installation and operation
The purchased product is assembled without any problems according to the attached instructions. If it is disassembled, then the walls are easily screwed to the bottom of the body, a support for the firebox is placed inside. A slider is installed on top that regulates the fuel supply and combustion force. It will take a few minutes to assemble the installation.
It is allowed to operate the biofireplace in a room adapted for ventilation. When installing corner and wall models, leave a gap of 2-3 cm between the walls. The lower part does not heat up, so it can be placed on any surface (wood, carpet). Flammable objects are not placed within a meter from the heat source. It is recommended to mount suspended models so that it is convenient to control the process of work - at a height of 1.5 m. The main condition is a flat horizontal surface. Practice shows that during combustion, the flame should not come into contact with glass parts and other decorative elements, otherwise soot may appear.
The burner is filled up to 2/3 of its volume, the critical position is 2 cm from the edge. It is forbidden to add fuel with an open fire. The flame can only be "controlled" by a special regulator. Maintenance consists of periodically flushing the fuel block and cleaning the surface from dust.
