Buzulnik Vorobiev (lat. Ligularia vorobievii) - a representative of the Buzulnik genus of the Asteraceae family, or Astrovye. The Far East is considered to be the homeland of culture, where the plant is found in natural conditions. Now the species is used in ornamental gardening, they are ennobled with personal plots and their unsightly areas.

Characteristics of culture

Buzulnik Vorobyov is represented by perennial herbaceous plants up to 200 cm high. In the process of growth, they form rather large bushes, which are crowned with leathery, thickened, rounded foliage of a dark green color. The flowers, in turn, are voluminous, saturated, yellow, collected in a brush. The flowering of the culture is observed at the end of summer, usually in the second decade of August, which largely depends on the growing conditions and proper care. Seeds are small, light-sensitive.

It should be noted that Vorobyov's buzulnik, like other representatives of the genus, is prone to self-seeding. In order to prevent the plant from filling large areas, it is important to collect seeds on time. You can simplify the collection by tying the fading racemose inflorescences with a thin cloth or gauze. This is done when new seeds are required. If sowing is not planned, you can simply cut off the inflorescences with a pruner or scissors.

By the way, Vorobyov's buzulnik will become a real decoration of the garden in the autumn period, therefore, experienced gardeners advise using it in autonomies, that is, in autumn flower gardens. Up to frost, the foliage of the culture in question pleases with rich colors, which, in turn, hides the withered aerial part of other plants. As a result of this phenomenon, the garden is transformed before our eyes and visually does not remind of the autumn that has already come.

Growing features

Buzulnik Vorobyov cannot be called a whimsical plant, but it feels best on fertile and moderately moist soils. It is not forbidden to plant it near water bodies. Caring for Vorobyov's buzulnik does not take much time. It is necessary to loosen the soil and remove weeds from time to time. To minimize maintenance time, it is best to mulch the soil. So the plant will not be overcome by weeds and the soil will remain moist for a long time.

It is important to ensure timely watering, it is not recommended to allow the soil to dry out. A garter is also required, because in the process of growth, Vorobyov's buzulnik reaches a height of 2 meters. If this action is not taken, the bushes will fall apart and lose their former decorative effect. The culture responds positively to fertilizers. It is advisable to apply mullein infusion under the plant, best of all during periods important for the culture, that is, in early spring, before and after flowering. The introduction of rotted humus is also encouraged; this operation should be carried out in the spring.

Vorobyov's buzulnik is propagated by the seed method and vegetatively, in the second case - by dividing the bush. Sowing is carried out in open ground in early spring. It is not necessary to cover the seeds deeply, it is enough to scatter them over the soil, sprinkle them a little and moisten them abundantly. In the future, it is important to provide future seedlings with regular watering, so they will quickly rise and gain strength. Later, with the emergence of seedlings, it is necessary to cover them, protecting them from the midday sun, which can harm young plants.

If necessary, sowing can be carried out in the autumn or sown for planting in February-March. If the seeds could not be collected and they self-seeded, but it is required to get new bushes, in the spring, the newly emerged plants should be dived and transplanted to a permanent place. Even seedlings can be easily transplanted. True, plants obtained by seed bloom only in the fourth year, sometimes later.
