Characteristics of culture
Anemone tender is represented by low perennial plants up to 15 cm high with a tuberous thickened rhizome with an oblong cylindrical shape. It should be noted that this species belongs to the group of plants with tuberous rhizomes. The foliage of the representative of the genus under consideration is three times dissected, equipped with long petioles. The peduncle cannot be called durable, therefore it is recommended to plant the culture in places where there are no gusty and squall winds.
The flowers of the anemones are delicate, single, blue in color, do not exceed 3-4 cm in diameter. Outwardly, the flowers are very similar to chamomiles. Flowering is observed in the second or third decade of May, lasts about 3-4 weeks. Again, the exact timing of flowering is determined depending on the climatic zone and compliance with the rules of care. Anemone tender belongs to the category of cold-resistant crops, however, when cultivated in the middle lane, shelter in the form of a layer of dry fallen leaves is required. It serves as a preventive measure against freezing.
The subtleties of growing
Most of the representatives of the genus Anemone cannot be called whimsical plants, and the tender anemone is no exception. True, the culture feels best on fertile, neutral, loose, moderately moist soils. Strongly waterlogged, marshy, saline, dense and heavy soils, the tender anemone will not tolerate, on them the plants will lag behind in growth and poor flowers, perhaps a complete lack of flowering. A similar situation occurs in shaded areas. Anemones are adherents of sunny areas, light shady with diffused light are not forbidden.
Landing features
Planting tender anemones is carried out in early spring or early autumn. It is important to remember that the tuberous rhizome needs preliminary preparation, it is recommended to soak it for at least 8-10 hours in a solution of growth stimulants. Processing with a weak solution of potassium permanganate is welcomed, it will protect the rhizome from possible diseases. Planting the rhizome of the tender anemone is carried out in open ground in pre-prepared holes 4-5 cm deep. The rhizomes are planted so that the growth buds are at the top.
The plantings must be thoroughly watered, but after that it is necessary to monitor the condition of the soil, it cannot be waterlogged, otherwise the rhizomes will begin to rot. Planting is possible not in open ground, but in small pots, in this case, planting is best done in early spring, that is, in March. But before planting the already hatched sprouts in open ground, the plants should be hardened. In one place, the tender anemone can grow up to five years, after this period a transplant is required. As the plant grows, it is necessary to systematically divide and remove excess specimens. The division is recommended to be carried out immediately after flowering and yellowing of the foliage - in the first or second decade of June.
