Anemone (lat. Anemone) - flower culture; perennial plant of the Buttercup family. Another name for Anemone. Growing conditions
Anemone is a shade-loving plant, it prefers shaded areas, protected from cold winds. The culture has a negative attitude towards direct sunlight. Only two species are photophilous - tender anemone and crown anemone. Soils for growing anemones are desirable loose, well-drained, moderately moist fertile with a neutral or slightly acidic pH reaction. Compacted and saline soils, lowlands with stagnant cold air and water are not suitable.
Reproduction and planting
The anemone is propagated by seeds, tubers, segments of rhizomes and dividing the bush. Plants are planted in spring or autumn under a shelter. Sowing seeds is carried out directly into the ground in May - July. The seeding depth is 4-5 cm. Seedlings appear in 30-150 days, depending on the variety. Young anemones bloom the next year after planting.
The tubers of the plant are soaked in warm water for several hours before planting. The soil is carefully dug up and fertilized, holes are formed with a diameter of 30-40 cm, and half a glass of ash and a handful of humus are poured onto their bottom. Tubers are planted with a sharp tip up to a depth of 10 cm. After planting, the soil is slightly tamped, watered abundantly and mulched.

Anemone is a perennial culture, it grows quickly enough, so it needs a transplant. The transplant is carried out in the middle of the season, this procedure is not prohibited during flowering. Care

Top dressing with complex mineral fertilizers is carried out three times per season: the first - in early spring, the second - during the formation of buds, the third - in the fall before the onset of stable frosts. Abundant and timely watering is carried out only a week after planting and during flowering.
For the winter, the plants are covered with a thick layer of rotted humus or any other material. Crown, Apennine, gentle and Caucasian anemones need additional care. These species are very difficult to tolerate winters, so it is better to dig them out. The anemone tubers are stored in a dry warm room until autumn, and for the winter they are transferred to cellars with an air temperature of no higher than 5C. In the spring, the tubers are treated with warm water and planted in open ground.

Anemone is a flowering ornamental plant used to decorate borders, flower beds, lawns, lawns and rocky gardens. Anemones are grown mainly in group plantings, less often in single ones. Terry forms look great in mixborders.
