Bananas are eaten today by almost everyone and, absolutely not thinking about the benefits of banana peels, many of us immediately send them to the trash can. And in vain - a banana peel can become a faithful assistant to a summer resident, because excellent fertilizers are obtained from it! At the same time, you can prepare miraculous fertilizers in a variety of ways
Which plants will appreciate the banana peel top dressing?
Fresh banana peels will be the ideal raw material for preparing fertilizers for winter greenhouse plants, because they all experience a lack of heat and light during the cold season. It's no secret that banana peels are rich in potassium, phosphorus and calcium, and all these elements are constantly needed by plants! Cabbage and other cruciferous crops respond especially well to potassium fertilizers. Banana skins and tomatoes are positively perceived - you can safely lay the peel directly into the holes when planting. And even cucumbers fertilized in this way will grow stronger and larger!
How to prepare fertilizers?
The simplest and most common way is to cut the banana peels with scissors and bury them. As a result of these completely simple operations, even the stunted vegetation quickly begins to come to life and abundantly covered with foliage. And, most interestingly, after ten days, not the slightest trace remains in the ground, indicating that a banana peel was buried here literally a week and a half ago - it is eaten entirely by bacteria. By the way, such dressings help to significantly improve the composition of the soil!
And the most proven method of making banana peel fertilizers is as follows. A pre-prepared baking sheet is lined with foil, after which banana peels are laid out on it. And so that they do not stick, they should be laid out on the top side. Then the baking sheet is sent to the oven, and you can do this even when something is being prepared in the oven (in the case of an electric stove, this approach will help save energy). When all the skins are fried, you should immediately cool them and, after crushing the resulting raw materials, transfer them to airtight bags. Subsequently, a spoonful of fertilizer is taken for each plant.
Many summer residents safely dry banana peels by spreading them on batteries. And as soon as they dry, they are immediately transferred to paper bags. It is recommended to put such fertilizer in cups with seedlings, while it is important to try to place it exclusively in the lower layers, since it can quickly begin to mold on the soil surface.
It is not forbidden to freeze the banana peel, then it can always be removed from the freezer if necessary.
As for greenhouse crops, peel infused with water is most suitable for them: by placing three banana peels in a three-liter jar, pour the raw material with water at room temperature right up to the neck of the jar and leave the future feeding to brew for two days. Then, thoroughly filtering the solution, dilute it with water in a 1: 1 ratio. And that's all - you can water both seedlings and adult crops with the ready-made infusion.
And also excellent compost is obtained from banana peels: the earth is combined with a fairly solid amount of finely chopped banana peels, and then watered with "Baikal" and everything is mixed well. After a month, all actions must be repeated. These simple steps allow you to get excellent compost - black and greasy. Every single bulbous will be delighted with it!
Fertilizer for tomatoes
After drying as many banana peels as possible during the winter, with the onset of spring, grind them in a coffee grinder and add them to each hole when planting tomatoes. This fertilizer is not only rich in potassium - in addition to everything else, it helps to increase sugar content and cold resistance. As a result, tomatoes grow extremely glorious!
The most important thing is that before removing the skins from bananas, do not forget to wash them thoroughly, because in order for bananas to be better stored, they are often treated with special substances. And it is highly undesirable for such compounds to be in the soil!
