It is good to have a place in the house where outsiders cannot get. This can be a workshop, study, dressing room, or just a pantry. Behind a tricky door, you can arrange a cache with valuable things, expensive tools, thereby preventing theft of property. Option number 1: Door-wall
A regular door is installed in the wall and finished according to the design of the room. The main condition: no platbands, flush mounting of the door frame. The main sign that gives out the door is the hinges, in order to hide them, you need to use special, invisible from the outside, hinge hinges or use a mechanism with brackets operating on the hood. To open, install a valve lock with a spring, working on an extrusion, you can also adapt a removable handle at the bottom.
After assembling and installing the door, the entire wall is covered according to the selected material: plaster, plastic panels, vinyl film. Best of all, any drop on the surface is concealed by a wooden lining, non-woven wallpaper. If decorative panels with a frieze are used, then it is wiser to start finishing from the door, combining the frieze on the contour of the opening.
Option number 2: Door-picture
You need a non-standard door that is sufficient for a person to pass through. We purchase or use an old door from a bathroom, toilet with a width of 550 mm. We cut off the height, usually 120 cm is considered a sufficient size, if you wish, you can go through the opening of 100 cm.
Installation is carried out, stepping back from the floor, the distance through which it will be convenient for you to step over (50 cm). Standard hinges can be used, as they will be covered with a frame. The final stage is camouflage. Your imagination works here: you paint a picture on the door leaf with oil or acrylic paints, create a drawing on a stencil, in the absence of creative skills, use a reproduction, collage, photo wallpaper.
Finishing requires a beautiful edging, it is better to buy a baguette, but in order to save money, you can use interior building materials (baseboards, decorative slats).
Option number 3: Door-mirror
The door installation methods can be applied as described above. A mirror is glued to the door leaf with the help of double-sided tape. If desired, you can take screws and wooden strips for fasteners, which will fix the material around the entire perimeter.
It is desirable that the mirror surface completely covers the door leaf. If this is not possible, equip additional decor in the form of a glued ceramic tile ornament, a pattern of wooden slats, and plant elements. The frame of the mirrored door will be platbands. The handle should be attached to the outside of the frame and not concentrate. Such a door distracts attention and is perceived as an ordinary mirror.
Option number 4: Wardrobe door
On sale are ready-made wardrobe doors with instructions and mechanisms, pivoting and sliding. You can disguise the entrance yourself at no cost. Place a cabinet against the door, dismantle the back wall or make a corresponding opening in it.
You need to work with the shelves inside the cabinet so that as a result they move easily and do not obstruct the passage. There is another easy way to equip a secret entrance - hang bookshelves above the door and it will open with them.
Option number 5: Hidden door for the cache
A country house has an underground or basement room, if you create a convenient entrance with a staircase, you will be able to rationally use the underground and underground space (workshop, storage room, cache-warehouse, secret room). The entrance hatch is not made large, it is enough to do with a minimum square of 50 * 50 cm. For installation, mechanisms or ordinary door hinges are used.
The main requirement is the strength of the overlap, the absence of deflections when entering the hatch surface. For camouflage purposes, such a door should be installed flush with the floor, dampen the sound and not creak underfoot while moving around the room. Installation is carried out from high-quality materials that can withstand a large mass of 80 kg and more.
If especially valuable things will be stored under the floor, then it is important to ensure secrecy and inaccessibility for detection. In this case, it is prudent not to make a hatch door in the middle of the room, but to equip it closer to the wall, where there is little traffic. You can spread a carpet on top and put an armchair, cabinet or table. In this case, it will be difficult to find your secret place.
