"Forest Fairy Tale" is gardening located near the picturesque lake of the same name. Coniferous forest, clean air, clear water attract residents not only of the Republic of Mari El, but also from all over the country to acquire plots for summer holidays. Recently I was lucky to visit this fabulous place
A small plot of 6 acres is striking in its neatness. A modest wooden house with an attic, painted in a sunny color, welcomes guests. Inside there is a cozy, warm Russian stove with a hob. The walls retain their primitiveness, sanded by the carpenter's caring hand, they are covered with a thin layer of protective varnish. All cracks are securely drilled and sewn up with a lath. In such a hut, you can spend the night not only in summer, but also in cold autumn.
On the right side of the house there is a gorgeous flower garden with many plants. Young conifers go well with herbaceous specimens. Several varieties of blue spruce: weeping, cushion, pyramidal are located around a small reservoir.
In the center of the pond, water lilies with double inflorescences flaunt. As if by order, they open their petals to the sun every day. We were lucky to see this sight. In the morning, tight buds came out onto the water surface. By lunchtime, elastic petals appeared in all their glory. White, pink, crimson - they decorate the pond with bright spots. Local frogs do not miss the opportunity to soak up the large water lilies. Artificial ducks are indistinguishable from real ones from a distance.
Large and small pebbles frame the water surface. On the banks there are creeping species of willow, juniper, hydrangea, and a bush of variegated calamus.
A small hedgehog on a stump under a fir tree wants to run away and hide in the grass from the watchful gaze of the hostess. You can touch its prickly needles. He froze during the shooting, posing for the camera.
Among the coniferous representatives there are: different varieties of junipers (pyramidal, ground cover, creeping, spherical, ovoid), thuja of all colors and sizes, spruce, fir with large cones at the ends of the branches looking up. Of the rare specimens are present: dwarf birch with yellow, small foliage, Canadian hemlock, edelweiss, variegated iris, two varieties of daylilies, phlox, coreopsis.
The bright foliage of low-growing barberries is organically combined with the green needles of neighbors, creating a joyful holiday atmosphere. Clematis bushes master the vertical space. Large terry inflorescences strive towards the sun.
For the convenience of weeding, squares of tiles are scattered around the entire perimeter of the flower beds in a checkerboard pattern. At the same time, the ground remains soft, you can safely walk around the site in slippers.
Every centimeter is used to its fullest. There was not enough material for the track near the bench. In the empty space under the seat, the variegated Ayuga is organically located. Who would have thought that even under the bench it was possible to organize an original flower garden ?!
Empty places among the conifers are occupied by several varieties of Fortchun's euonymus. Low compact bushes respond well to cutting. In the shady areas near the fence, hosts are perched: large, medium, miniature. Matched by height, size, color, they give the picture a finished look. Astilbe, Heuchera, Brunner - create bright spots among the greenery.

Closer to lunch, along a forest path, we walked to a marvelous lake with a mysterious name Forest Fairy Tale. A sanatorium is located on its bank. A clean, sandy, well-equipped beach allows you to take a break from working days on hot days. Pine air invigorates, fills the body with new forces. Mushrooms, blueberries and lingonberries grow two meters from the path.
It seems that time has stopped its rapid pace here. 5 hours flew by like 5 minutes. Paradise corner "Fairy Tale" invites you to return again under your cover. Thanks to the wonderful hostess for a fascinating tour of the garden and its surroundings!
