Varieties of walls

When constructing walls made of round wood or wooden beams, care must be taken to protect the wood from moisture and fungi. To do this, the wood is primed with special means, covered with glazes and varnishes, drainage is arranged between the wooden structure and the ground in order to prevent direct contact between wood and damp earth.
Plants for walls
Plants are planted at the foot of the walls; in specially designed pockets filled with garden soil; in various niches and cracks in the wall. Low plants are planted in the depressions, which are decorative, for almost the entire summer season. Basically, these are low-growing rhizome plants, content for their growth and development in small areas.
Such plants include: arabis, badan, aishuga, gentian, primroses, aubrieta, hybrid hellebore, small-leaved alpine, periwinkle, subulate phlox, common screech, saxifrage, daisies, yaskolki, alpine soldanella.
Placing plants on the wall, take into account the illumination of the planting site. Plants that love light are planted in sunny places. Aubrieta, splayed phlox and subulate phlox are suitable for such places. Hanging shoots of phlox form decorative mauve spots on the wall in spring and autumn, when their fragrant inflorescences bloom. In summer, there are no flowers on them, but the greenery of the plant continues to decorate the wall.
For shaded areas of the wall, the following plants are suitable: aishuga, periwinkle, liverwort (copse), saxifrage.
