Trellis making

Many garden centers have a huge variety of trellises and nets for them. But you can save money and create this device yourself. The process of making a trellis is absolutely not complicated, for this you only need a vertical surface - a pillar, fence, wall and twine or wire.

Creation methods:

- You will need metal stakes, three posts and a wire. Two supports are installed along the edge of the bed, another one is nailed on them, for twisting around the wire. Choose any distance between the posts, usually 3 - 5 meters. If you choose long-leaved plant varieties, then the height of the racks should be at least 2 meters.

Tie a twine to one peg, stick it on one side of the bed and, bending around the transverse crossbars, pull the twine to the top. It is recommended to install an additional support to prevent the wire from sagging.

In the end, you should wrap both posts and return down to the peg on the other side of the bed. Make a similar trellis even before the cucumbers emerge.

- It is possible to create a wooden trellis that looks like a ladder or horizontal bar. In this case, stock up on slats, the width of which should be about 3 cm, vertical beams and horizontal posts. Using self-tapping screws, knock the slats into a square, which will act as a trellis.
