Nevertheless, one should not forget that excessive use of fertilizers can have an extremely negative effect on the development of this plant, as well as also negatively affect flowering. Reproduction of forget-me-nots
Reproduction of this plant can take place both by cuttings and by means of seeds. Forget-me-not seeds should be sown directly in open ground, starting in May and ending in July. It is important to remember that when sowing, the seeds should not be deeply buried. Moisten the soil before watering. In the month of August, plants should be transplanted to a permanent place. In addition, cultivation of forget-me-nots through seedlings is also permissible. In this case, sowing seeds is recommended in the month of April. The seeds should be spread over the surface of the substrate, which should be moist and light. It is recommended to sprinkle the seeds on top with a fairly thin layer of earth. When two true leaves appear, it is recommended to dive the seedlings, and then they are transferred to a warm room. In such a room there should be an average illumination, and the distance between plantings should be about fifteen to twenty centimeters. It should be noted that, among other things, forget-me-not will reproduce well also through self-seeding.
As for propagation by cuttings, this method is used when it is required to preserve the variety of this plant. For this method, it is necessary at the end of spring or at the beginning of summer to take apical cuttings, which are subsequently planted on the ridges. It is recommended to form such ridges in light shade. At the very beginning of the autumn season, rooted cuttings should be transplanted to a permanent place.
As for possible diseases and pests, in some cases, forget-me-not can be damaged by powdery mildew and gray rot. Aphids, slugs and scoops can often act as pests. Nevertheless, if all the requirements of the cultivation are fulfilled, the plant will remain healthy.
