Description of furry sedge

Shaggy sedge is known under many popular names: red wheatgrass, decop, mulberry, silk grass, wheat grass, expensive grass, and medicinal sedge. Shaggy sedge is a perennial plant, the height of which can reach forty centimeters. The rhizome of this plant is creeping and long. The stem of the shaggy sedge is smooth and triangular. The leaves of this plant will be pubescent and flat. Stamen flowers are collected in small and rather narrow spikelets, in the amount of two or three pieces. The lower spikelets of hairy sedge are located on short and hairy legs that will come out of the sheaths of the bracts. The fruit of this plant is a triangular nutlet.

The flowering of furry sedge occurs in the period from June to August. Under natural conditions, this plant is found on the territory of Belarus, the European part of Russia and Ukraine. For the growth of shaggy sedge, it prefers moist sandy places in both oak and deciduous forests.

Description of the medicinal properties of furry sedge

Shaggy sedge is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use rhizomes with adventitious roots of this plant for medicinal purposes. Such healing raw materials should be collected from September to October. The presence of such valuable healing properties should be explained by the content of starch, saponins, resinous substances, tannins, traces of essential oil, bitter substance coumarite and silicic acid in the composition of this plant.

It should be noted that this plant is widely used in scientific medicine. In scientific medicine, furry sedge is used as a very effective expectorant for various diseases of the upper respiratory tract. As for traditional medicine, a decoction and tincture prepared on the basis of the rhizomes of this plant are used here. Such healing agents are used for bronchitis, laryngitis, furunculosis, gout, various colds, metabolic disorders, rheumatism, nervous diseases, skin diseases, as well as gynecological diseases that will accompany pain.

A very effective remedy is a decoction based on this plant: to prepare such a healing agent, you will need to take two teaspoons of shaggy sedge rhizomes with roots in two glasses of boiled water. The resulting mixture should be infused for about eight to ten hours, and then it is recommended to strain such a healing mixture very carefully. It is recommended to take the resulting healing agent based on shaggy sedge three to four times a day, half a glass.

In addition, the following healing agent based on this plant is very effective: to prepare such a healing agent, you will need to take one tablespoon of crushed rhizomes with roots in half a liter of boiling water. The resulting healing mixture should be infused for about two hours, and then this mixture is filtered very carefully. Take the resulting healing agent based on shaggy sedge three to four times a day, half a glass. To achieve the greatest effectiveness, it is important to carefully follow all the recommendations for the preparation of such a healing agent.
