Euphorbia shaggy is one of the plants of the family called euphorbia, in Latin the name of this plant will sound as follows: Euphorbia villosa Waldst. et Kit. As for the name of the hairy milkweed family itself, then in Latin it will be like this: Euphorbiaceae Juss.

Description of shaggy milkweed

Euphorbia is a perennial herb, the height of which will fluctuate between forty and one hundred and twenty centimeters. Such a plant is densely fluffy, and its root will be many-headed, thick and cylindrical, and also this root is endowed with long offspring. The stalks of the shaggy milkweed are erect and numerous, at the bottom their thickness is equal to four to seven millimeters, they will be fistulous, and also endowed with two to ten peduncles, the length of which will be about one and a half to eleven centimeters. It is noteworthy that in the lower part such stems will be endowed with non-flowering branches, the lower leaves of this plant are scaly, and the stem leaves can be either barely petiolate or sessile. The inflorescence of the shaggy milkweed will be corymbose, there are only five to eight apical peduncles, and their length will be equal to one and a half to seven centimeters. The glass of this plant is bell-shaped, its length is two and a half millimeters, and its diameter is two and a half to three millimeters. The fruit of the shaggy milkweed is a spherical and flattened three-root, the length of which is three and a half to four millimeters, and the width is about four to four and a half millimeters. Moreover, such a fruit will be slightly furrowed. The seed of this plant is shiny, smooth and compressed ovate, and its length will be about two to two and a half millimeters, such a seed will be painted in dark brown tones.

Under natural conditions, this plant is found on the territory of Moldova, the Caucasus and the Dnieper region of Ukraine. For growth, euphorbia shaggy prefers river banks overgrown with bushes, ditches, foothills, lowlands, forest lawns, damp meadows and swampy river valleys.

Description of the medicinal properties of shaggy milkweed

Euphorbia is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use the herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. The concept of grass includes leaves, stems and flowers of the shaggy milkweed.

The presence of such valuable medicinal properties should be explained by the content of alkaloids, saponins, organic acids, vitamin C and tannins in this plant. In the roots of the shaggy milkweed, rubber and resin will be present, while the stems and leaves will contain inositol.

It should be noted that it was proved in animal experiments that tinctures and decoctions prepared on the basis of shaggy milkweed are capable of stimulating the central nervous system, followed by paralysis.

As for traditional medicine, here this plant is quite widespread. Here, the milky juice of the milky herb is indicated for use as a very effective and gentle laxative. The essence of this plant is widely used in homeopathy. It is worth noting that the shaggy spurge is endowed with the ability to dye fabrics in a rather rich green color.

It should be noted that due to the fact that the chemical composition of coastal milkweed has not yet been fully studied, in the near future, new ways of using medicinal products based on this plant may appear. Most likely, such remedies will be very effective and the positive result will be noticeable rather quickly.
