Landscaping

There are few plants on earth that can compete with the tree peony. Beauty, wondrous aroma of inflorescences, splendor of flowering, variety of forms, unpretentious care, longevity. These factors make them indispensable for home decoration. In the spring, they become the center of the composition, attracting the attention of guests.

Peonies evoke positive emotions, carry strong energy, charging others with optimism. Regal, lush, gentle - they become the leader of any flower garden.

The bushes need room, a green velvet carpeted lawn finish. Majestic plants do not tolerate the hustle and bustle around them. Lining of low-growing daisies, pansies, tiled edging, trimmed borders are not very suitable for them. The preferred location is ceremonial places - parterres in gardens, parks. In household estates, they are assigned the most prominent areas among the lawn.

After flowering, the fallen arrows with inflorescences are cut off. The greenery allows the bushes to be decorative all summer long. Varieties with corrugated foliage look especially impressive. By choosing plants with different flowering periods, you can extend the charm period by 1, 5 months.

Peonies are purely garden plants, therefore, the crops of the same assortment group act as neighbors. Placement next to a "wild" landscape imitating the image of a grove, forest or rockery looks unnatural. Silver Christmas trees, horse chestnut, lilac bushes serve as a good background for them.

Saving bouquets

From tree-like peonies, chic bouquets are obtained that decorate the interior decoration of rooms. A pleasant smell spreads throughout the room.

In order for the bushes to actively grow green mass, it is recommended to remove up to 50% of the inflorescences. At the same time, the quality of the buds remaining on the plants improves.

Cut flowers with an adjacent stem 40 cm long. Most of the leaf plates are left on the bushes so as not to disrupt the feeding process, the laying of future buds.

The procedure is carried out in dry weather early in the morning with half-opened petals. During rainy weather, abundant dew, you should not cut.

The shoots are dipped in a jar of water, removed for several hours in a cool, dark room. At a temperature of 2-4 degrees, the bouquet can be stored for up to 1 month.

Twigs are taken out of storage a day before use. Trim the ends of the stems, leave 2 top leaves, the rest are removed. Return to cold water. With this preparation, the bouquet does not lose its decorative effect within a week.

You can extend the life of inflorescences using a sugar solution (20 g per 1 liter of water), adding one of the antiseptics:

• boric acid (0.1 g);

• activated carbon (2-3 tablets).

The solution is changed after 2 days. In modern floriculture, special preparations "Buton", "Flora", "Nora" have been developed.

Tincture of yellow peony roots helps with gynecological problems, depression, sciatica, nosebleeds, thrombophlebitis, headaches.

Freshly dug roots are washed thoroughly with cold water. Small hairs are removed, cut into pieces of 10-15 cm. Dried in the shade under the influence of natural ventilation. In wet weather, gas or electric dryers are used, maintaining the temperature within 40 degrees.
