What can be useful in the country?

When some thing loses its original functions or simply becomes unnecessary for us, we strive to throw it away as soon as possible. And we do not at all think about the fact that it can still be useful to us, but already for completely different purposes, for example, for use in the country. And completely in vain! What things should not be in a hurry to throw away, and how can they be adapted for summer cottage needs?

Empty plastic bottles

They can be very useful for watering. If you make several holes in them, and then dig them into the ground and periodically fill them with water, the garden vegetation will receive life-giving moisture much longer and directly to the "address", that is, water will always flow exclusively to the roots.

Disposable forks

The plastic forks prudently stuck into the ground with the tips upwards will not allow pets (especially the representatives of the feline family) to lie down to sleep on the still immature sprouts.

Stones

The stones left after construction or landscape design work will be useful for the construction of plates for the beds, because you can always mark on them (with the help of paint) what exactly and where was planted.

Old bicycle wheels

Old rims or bicycle wheels are an excellent starting material for building vertical beds for growing green peas or newly planted cucumbers.

Diapers

Sometimes it also happens that the child has already grown up and has learned to walk to the potty on his own, and a package or two of diapers is gathering dust in the closet. They can be used to preserve moisture in garden pots, because all summer residents are well aware of how quickly the earth dries up in them. Having absorbed excess water first, the diapers will slowly begin to give it to plants in need of it. A very valuable quality, you must agree!

Eggshell

It will definitely come in handy for growing seedlings, because egg shells simultaneously perform two important functions at once: firstly, they turn into compact and environmentally friendly pots, and secondly, they become an important source of nutrients that are so necessary for plants. By the way, it is perfectly acceptable to place seedlings grown in such shells in the ground right in them!

Citrus zest

This is an excellent helper for getting rid of mosquitoes and aphids - in order to scare away these pests, you just need to spread citrus zest in their favorite places (its smell will scare off harmful parasites).

To scare off mosquitoes, you can plant castor oil plants, tansy or nasturtium on the site. The Colorado potato beetle really does not like marigolds, and mint with wormwood should help from ants.

Used transparent umbrella cane

Once upon a time, transparent cane umbrellas were in vogue, however, you can often see them today. Do not rush to throw away such umbrellas if they have already served their owners faithfully - they make excellent temporary mini-greenhouses. To build such a greenhouse, the umbrella handle is removed, and the cane is stuck into the ground. And as soon as the need for this assistant disappears, it can always be removed from the ground, folded and stored in a shed.

Potato tubers

Not the most delicious potato tubers can be adapted for growing roses from cuttings - if you stick the cuttings into these tubers, they will be provided for a long time with valuable reserves of nutrients and life-giving moisture they need. And the cuttings are buried in the soil along with the tubers.

Tea bags

They can be used as a supplemental fertilizer because they are great for adding essential nutrients to plants.

Coffee grounds

Plants sprinkled with it are no longer of interest to squirrels and hares. And for seedlings, coffee grounds provide additional nutrients!
