The time of sowing pepper for seedlings is approaching. Therefore, a cheat sheet will come in handy, what rules you need to adhere to in order to grow strong seedlings, and as a result, get a generous harvest from each bush
Pepper seeds - examining the packaging
How well it will turn out to grow peppers is decided already at the stage of seed selection. When buying planting material, you need to pay attention to two important criteria:
1. Zoning.
2. Terms of ripening.
Why pay attention to where the variety is bred? If it is obtained in the southern regions, then it is naturally best grown in areas with a warmer climate. When peppers are going to be grown in harsher climates with long winters and short summers, then zoned varieties are needed for the northern lands. Let's not forget that pepper is a heat-loving plant, its homeland is South America. Therefore, experiments with varieties not intended for your region are highly likely to be unsuccessful.
As for the ripening time, read carefully what is written on the package. According to the duration of the growth period, peppers are divided into:
• early ones, in which 90-110 days pass from the moment of emergence to harvest;
• average - 110-135 days;
• late - more than 135 days.
In the middle lane, it is better to choose early varieties. But on the packaging of some manufacturers, the ripening period is indicated from the moment the seedlings are planted. Add to it the age of the pepper seedlings for planting in the ground (45-50 days), and you will find out which variety the manufacturer offers. Pay attention to this point so that you don't buy a medium or late variety instead of an early variety.
What seeds to sow: your own or purchased
If you were extremely pleased with the pepper harvest last season, and you collected the seeds of the best fruits for reproduction, do not rush to sow them. Before starting sowing, you need to remember what it was - a hybrid or a variety?
The seeds of the hybrids are not intended for reproduction. Yes, they will produce offspring. But it will no longer have the quality that the gardener hopes to get.
Hybrids combine the best "parental" traits - taste, fruit size, and so on. However, the offspring of hybrids will no longer have a complete set of these properties. Because in the second generation there is a splitting of maternal qualities.
Consider this when purchasing new seed packs. If you expect to collect seeds from fruits and use them for propagation, take the package without the F1 (hybrid) mark on the label.
Presowing seed treatment: to do it or not?
Better, of course, germinate disinfected and wetted seeds. But there are exceptions to this rule. When the seeds have already been pre-processed by the manufacturer, then this does not need to be done again. And it is also not worth soaking the seed. They can be sown immediately and dry.
Seedling containers
It is better not to sow pepper in one common tray. He doesn't like picking. And it is inconvenient to do a transplant from such a bed. In addition, pepper belongs to the type of crops that do not tolerate transplanting well, and also do not like damage to the roots. Therefore, it is advisable to sow them in nutritional cubes or peat tablets. And when the seedlings grow up, they can be easily and painlessly placed in larger cups, where they will grow before planting in open ground.
When it is not possible to sow vegetables in peat tablets, it makes sense to purchase reusable seedling cassettes. It is much easier to extract the plant from such cells together with the earthy clod without damaging the root system. And transfer the seedlings from a small cassette to a larger glass. It is not necessary to deepen the pepper seedlings when transplanting.

Eggplant: Preparing And Sowing Seeds For Seedlings
The main difficulty in growing eggplants is that they are very heat demanding and at the same time have a long development period. Therefore, in the conditions of the middle lane, vegetables are propagated through seedlings, taking into account the fact that at the time of moving to open ground, it should be about 60 days old, and about a month will pass from the day the ovary appears to technical maturity. Therefore, it is impossible to delay sowing seeds. What should not be forgotten in the course of such work?
