Fuchsia tree (lat. Fuchsia arborescens) - flowering trees belonging to the Cyprus family.

Description

Fuchsia treelike is a fairly tall evergreen trees with strong and straight branched trunks. The height of this plant can reach seven meters, but most often it still does not exceed five meters.

The leaves of the treelike fuchsia are quite dense and slightly pointed. They have an elliptical shape and are painted in rich dark green tones.

Small fuchsia tree flowers, located in the apical brushes, are painted in pleasant purple-pink tones and boast a spectacular bell-shaped shape. These magnificent trees begin to bloom in August, and their flowering continues until January (and the buds form on them until late autumn).

If you create the right conditions for the tree fuchsia and provide it with proper care, it will delight with its magnificent flowering for many years - as a rule, these trees do not lose their attractive appearance until they reach the age of fifty! And such fuchsia grows quite quickly - over the spring and summer, it stretches by an average of twenty to thirty centimeters.

Where grows

The homeland of the tree fuchsia is South America, but now this plant can be found in many other countries.

Growing and caring

Best of all, the tree-like fuchsia will grow in bright, but at the same time diffused light, however, it also treats the morning and evening rays of the sun very favorably. But this beauty must be protected from the midday rays of the sun and from strong winds. The best temperature for its proper development throughout the growing season is considered to be the range from eighteen to twenty-five degrees.

From spring to autumn, the tree fuchsia must be watered abundantly - this must be done as the upper soil layer dries up, while it is best to use soft, settled water for irrigation. Also, during this period, tree-like fuchsia should be fed with complex mineral fertilizers - as a rule, such dressings are carried out once every two or even three weeks. And in winter, a beautiful plant does not need feeding.

Withered fuchsia tree flowers must be removed in a timely manner - this will stimulate the formation of new buds. And in order to give the trees a spectacular shape and stimulate their flowering as much as possible, they should be systematically cut and pinched. At the same time, in young plants, in order for them to branch better, the tips of the stalks must be pinched after the formation of three pairs of leaves. This operation must be repeated every time, as soon as three pairs of leaves are formed on any of the side shoots. It usually takes at least three years to get excellent stems with luxurious lush crowns!

If the leaves of a tree fuchsia unexpectedly began to fall off, this may be due to insufficient watering, with too warm and dry air, or with a lack of light. The same factors, along with an excess of water, can lead to the dropping of buds, and the flowering period of tree fuchsia in this case can also be significantly reduced. So it is extremely important to provide a beautiful plant with complete care in all respects.

Fuchsia treelike reproduces both by seeds and cuttings, however, in order to acquire its seeds, artificial pollination is needed. And this type of fuchsia can be damaged by aphids, whiteflies or spider mites.
