Lush and I am bright inflorescences of clarkia marigold pleases until the end of September - early October, which depends on the variety and climatic conditions. Pinching is required to obtain compact oval half-bushes, decorated with many flowers, graceful clarke. It is carried out at a height of 12-13 cm. After this procedure, the bushes begin to branch well and form a large number of flowers.
Clarkia marigold is a highly decorative plant, it is suitable for decorating flower beds, mixborders, ridges, borders and creating groups. Plants look good in garden containers and flowerpots, which can be used to decorate balconies, terraces, the entrance to the house or courtyard. Clarkia marigold is also suitable for creating summer bouquets, it costs quite a long time in the cut. It is not forbidden to combine plants with other annual flower crops and ornamental shrubs.
The subtleties of cultivation
Clarkia graceful, or marigold, like other members of the genus, is a light-loving crop, it should be grown in areas open to the sun, but protected from cold winds. Lowlands with stagnant cold air and accumulation of precipitation are not suitable for the species in question. The soils are preferable loose, fresh, nutritious, moist, slightly acidic, water and air permeable, cleared of rhizome weeds. On heavy, too dry, poor and saline soils, plants feel defective, often affected by pests and diseases, which leads to inevitable death.
Clarkia is propagated by graceful seeds. Sowing is carried out in greenhouses or in open ground under a film in the third decade of April - the first decade of May. Seedlings appear together, after about 10-15 days. In the phase of two true leaves, the seedlings of Clarkia graceful are thinned out, leaving a distance between the plants of 20-30 cm (the distance depends on the spreading of the bushes and their growth). It is not recommended to plant clarke too far apart from each other, since it is a cross-pollinated crop. Transplant the grown seedlings to a permanent place in early June. Clarkii are not afraid of frost, but this applies only to hardened specimens.
