Serrated rake
When caring for a lawn, you cannot do without a fan rake. They are much more convenient than a simple garden rake when combing the grass after intense exertion (for example, after trampling it during a picnic), as well as before cutting. A fan rake gently removes mown and dead grass and foliage from the lawn.
Aerators
This tool is necessary for aeration (aeration) of the soil under the lawn, because during operation, grassy felt and mosses can form there. Aerators range from three- or four-arm garden forks to a mechanical toothed roller. On sale you can find aerators in the form of sandals, as well as special electric aerators that are similar to lawn mowers.
Electric aerators can be used several times per season. They minimally traumatize the cover and take good care of the lawn. During their work, the soil is saturated with oxygen in sufficient quantities, and moss, weeds and dry grass are qualitatively removed.
Crescent knife
This tool is used to trim the edges of the lawn. A crescent-shaped shovel is also suitable for this purpose. This work is carried out in the spring, once a year. Of course, you can do with an ordinary bayonet shovel or a hoe, but they are quite difficult to make the edge of the lawn perfectly flat.
Garden hoses
In dry weather, you cannot do without them. They need spray nozzles, the assortment of which is quite diverse. The automatic irrigation system, which is especially convenient on large areas, will greatly facilitate the care of the lawn.
Garden vacuum cleaner
For lawn care, those models of garden vacuum cleaners that can blow out air are convenient. This air broom is especially useful for large areas, helping to quickly collect debris and leaves in a heap. On small lawns, you can do with a fan or garden rake.
Tips for the summer resident
* When purchasing an electric lawn mower, there are many nuances to consider. It is advisable to use the help of a consultant. When choosing a model in terms of power, one should proceed from the area of the lawn: the larger it is, the more powerful the unit is needed.
* The width of the lawn mower you choose depends on the accuracy of planting on the site. For lawns without planting, a machine with a working width of at least 0.5 meters is required. For a garden, you need a small, maneuverable unit on three wheels, of a small width. Depending on the type of lawn, the mowing height and the working speed are selected.
* In lawn mowers, mowing can be carried out with different types of knives. The cylindrical units run more gently over the lawn, leaving even stripes on it.
* Some models of lawn mowers can be equipped with additional hanging accessories that turn them into aerators. They are purchased separately. In many cases, this is a more practical option than purchasing an additional electric aerator.
