A bathhouse was built five years ago. At that time, there was only enough money for construction, and there was no question of any beautiful decoration. Of course, later, money periodically appeared, but we did not bring the bath to mind. And now, after a while, our negligence got out to us, and literally got out. The floors have turned into a kind of hill. That and you will see you roll off her with boiling water. And all the insulation was taken away by birds, so the bath has to be heated for a very long time, and especially in winter. So we decided that it was time to fix our building, so that it was not only warm, but also beautiful

Of course, first of all, we tried to turn to professionals. But one (by the way, not too promoted) company asked for almost 150 thousand rubles for its services! The construction cost us the same amount, but here … In short, we did not even turn to more popular companies. We decided that we would manage on our own.

Bath insulation

To begin with, we insulated the building from the outside. For this, a heater was inserted into the cracks. By the way, we suffered for a long time with his choice. There are a huge number of materials that can be used to seal cracks. But each of them has almost as many shortcomings as they themselves. But we were lucky that we ended up in a good hardware store, where they told us as objectively as possible about each type and advised a special insulation based on jute with the addition of flax. They chose it because heat conducts poorly and also burns poorly. Such insulation has a drawback - it breaks easily. The store immediately warned that this would lead to the fact that after some time the birds will take away a significant part of the insulation. This shortcoming did not bother us, since this time we were not going to leave the insulation in free access for birds. For reliability, we went over the insulation with a special sealant (they advised us in the same store). It took him to fill up all the cracks invisible to the eye.

External finishing

After everything was liquidated, we covered our bathhouse with brick-like facade panels. The bathhouse immediately took on an expensive look. Now all that remained was to give shine inside. And this is the most difficult thing, since it is necessary to give the appearance of the dressing room and the washing room. Many saunas have a separate steam room, but ours is a budget option.

Interior decoration

So, again, we have been choosing the material for interior decoration for a long time. At first they thought to use tiles, but they don't keep warm. Therefore, we settled on wood. It is attractive, heats up quickly and, most importantly, retains heat well. And the scent … You can talk about it endlessly. In general, the scent of wood influenced our choice to some extent.

We also had to replace the floors, as I said, a bump formed on it. Surely, you know that the floors can be continuous, or they can be intermediate. We did the second option again. Since it is convenient. The water flows down, there are no accumulations, respectively, and premature rot and mold does not appear. Also, the floors can be tiled, and special wooden paths can be built on top. But we made a simple version.

As I said earlier, our washing room is combined with a steam room. And this was another reason why we decided to decorate the bathhouse with wood. They did it in the form of slats, which were installed tightly to each other. It is not only beautiful, but also reliable, since with this method it is simply impossible for outside air to get inside. It is worth noting that the thoughts of covering the bath with tiles did not leave her husband. But when he saw what happened, he was delighted. And we never returned to talking about tiles.

The last touches remained - the furniture. I saw beautiful options for wicker furniture, but we decided to do everything in the same style. We restored the old benches and shelves, which were sheathed with the same material as the entire bathhouse inside. And it turned out to be sweet.
