Almost all summer residents grow parsley, but pests often interfere with the plans of lovers of greenery from the garden.

It is most effective to carry out timely preventive measures, which will avoid undesirable problems when growing any crop in the future. In this article, we will talk about the parsley pests and what methods and methods should be used to deal with them.

A very important pest that parsley can encounter is the so-called hiking worms. This parasite is a green or brown larval caterpillar belonging to a certain species of moth. This pest will be approximately one to two inches long. The caterpillars will hide in the soil at the very base of the parsley. They come to the surface at night. In the event that holes are seen on the leaves of the plant or the leaves disappear, then this is a sure sign of the appearance of such a very unpleasant neighborhood.

Actually, in small quantities, such a pest is not capable of causing significant damage to your crop, however, the massive spread of hiking worms can lead to very unfavorable consequences. Ladybugs, spiders and wasps can help fight this parasite. It is also possible to collect these worms during their release and then immediately destroy them.

There is also such a pest as the larva of the black swallowtail caterpillar. Actually, the parasite owes this name to the fact that it hides in the parsley itself. This caterpillar is about two inches long and looks like a caterpillar with black stripes and yellow dots. Such a pest will infect plant leaves and not only parsley. The ways to combat this pest will be, first of all, compliance with crop rotation standards and the correct selection of seeds for sowing.

A pest like carrot aphid can also cause considerable damage to your plant. Despite even its name, this aphid will attack parsley in considerable quantities. This parasite will harm the leaves by consuming juice from them. Actually, such aphids are able to almost completely solve you harvest. In the event that the lesion is massive, it is almost impossible to save the plants. Therefore, it is also very important to carefully inspect the plants every day in order to take action only at the first detection of any inaccuracies and neoplasms. As for measures to combat such a pest as carrot aphids, a garlic solution will be the best solution. It is recommended to treat parsley beds with such a solution once a week. After the first time, the aphid will noticeably disappear, but it is better to insure yourself once again so that you do not face such a problem again in the future.

There is also such a rather dangerous pest as the carrot fly. Again, based on the name, it seems that this parasite poses a danger exclusively to carrots. Of course, this statement is a big mistake. These flies will fly quite low, and they lay their eggs in the soil. After a while, worms appear that have no legs. They will be creamy white in color, and their length reaches one centimeter. This pest will feed on the roots of the plant, which negatively affects the growth of parsley and can stop the development of this culture almost completely. To combat such a pest, you will need to mix one part of thirty-five percent hydrogen peroxide with ten parts of water. With such a mixture, it is necessary to thoroughly water the soil around the beds themselves with this culture. This treatment is called organic: in the soil, hydrogen will form water and oxygen. Actually, this method is very effective in the fight against carrot flies. You can even use this method twice a week.

In conclusion, I would like to reiterate the importance of proper care and adherence to all recommendations for growing plants. In this case, your crop will be reliably protected from many pests.
