A lot has already been written about strawberries, both useful and interesting. And how to treat and how to care. But still, every lover of this sweet berry is concerned about one very important question: how to get a bigger harvest, so much so that the berries are larger and tastier? Timely feeding of strawberries will help with this
But despite the fact that top dressing will help to get a good harvest, I would not want it to contain a lot of different "chemistry". Therefore, we will "feed" our garden with various natural fertilizers. So, what do we treat to strawberries?
Ash
This is a very useful product. And by the way, not only for strawberries. Anything will do, but the following is considered the best: from the vine, from potato tops and from various types of straw (which is very often burned in the fields). But, in principle, you can use any available one, since in any case it will contain the potassium and phosphorus we need in certain quantities.
How to prepare ash for "consumption"? In principle, no special training is required. You can prepare an infusion and water the plants with it, or you can not bother and use the ash in the form in which it is. For feeding, just pour half a plastic cup under each bush. If you are just planting or replanting strawberries, then it is better to mix the ash with the soil with which you will fill the roots of the plant. To protect against disease, simply lightly dust the plant with ash.
Iodine
It is, perhaps, in every home in the first aid kit and is mainly used to disinfect various wounds and scratches. But, as it turned out, it helps not only in treatment, but is also an excellent helper in the garden. Firstly, it protects the plant from diseases, and secondly, it "feeds" it.
How to use? Very simple. Dissolve 8-10 drops of iodine in a bucket of water (please, observe the concentration, do not pour more, this will only harm the plant, since a large amount of iodine can burn the leaves and the plant will have to recover for a long time, and instead of harvesting you will get a diseased plant, it is better to drop iodine slightly less than "overdo it"), stir well and thoroughly, but carefully, spray the leaves with the resulting liquid. The procedure is carried out before the flowering of the plant and repeat every ten days for a month, so you get 3 treatments.
Rye bread (more precisely, rye crust or croutons)
Very good fertilizer. The effect is achieved due to the content of yeast in rye crusts or croutons, which has a good effect on the growth of strawberry bushes. It is very simple to prepare fertilizer (the main thing is not to forget that somewhere you are standing and preparing a nutritious mass for strawberries): put rye crusts, crackers, crumbs in a jar or any other container, fill them with warm water and forget about this container on seven to eight days. After the number of days indicated above, the fertilizer is ready. Before use, be sure to dilute with water, as the concentration of yeast in the container is very high. Water the strawberries with the resulting solution.
Foliar dressing
Such dressing is used to stimulate the appearance of the ovary, respectively, it is carried out before flowering. Please note that it is better to carry out such work on a cloudy day, since in clear weather, firstly, the liquid will evaporate before it has time to be absorbed, and secondly, the plants are highly likely to get sunburn.
Prepare the mixture: pour a glass of ash into a bucket of cool water, stir well, then there are a couple of grams of manganese and the same amount of boric acid. Stir everything thoroughly until the manganese crystals "disperse". Everything, you can get to work.
