Dosed and timely feeding will double the yield. Novice summer residents do not know how to improve the fruiting of garden strawberries. Let's talk about feeding strawberries during budding and ripening of berries with various compositions
Scarce land and a deficiency of certain substances lead to crumbling berries, loss of juiciness, aroma. To increase the yield, strawberries are fed several times. Timely intake of complex nutrition will give strength to the production and ripening of berries, which is especially important for large-fruited varieties. I offer an overview of recipes for feeding strawberries.
Formation of berries in strawberries, how to feed
During flowering and setting of the first fruits, the plant must be provided with nutrition. The formation of berries requires a lot of potassium. This substance promotes the formation of full-fledged ovaries and their growth; it can be introduced in several ways.
1. Ash used in the initial stage of tying. It is applied dry in the aisles at the rate of 1 bush + 1 handful. If desired, make an ash solution and water your plantation. Preparation: 1 liter of boiling water is poured into a glass of powder. After cooling, this mass is poured into a 10-liter bucket. Application - a liter per bush.
2. Combined mixture consists of three components. Kemira Lux preparation (Organic Mix, Rubin, Kristalon) + potassium sulfate + ammonium nitrate (in equal parts). Introduced in minimal doses: 1 tsp. on the bush.
3. Potassium monophosphate diluted in water (10 l + 1 tbsp. l.). When watering, dose approximately 2 liters per adult plant.
Top dressing during fruiting
The duration of active fruiting usually does not exceed two weeks. At this time, many summer residents passively wait for the berries to ripen, without taking any action. Feeding strawberries during fruiting is very necessary, several formulations are used.
1. Chicken droppings in the form of an infusion, it is introduced by the root watering method - 1 liter per bush. The solution is made 1:30, kept in a closed container for 2-3 days.
2. Mullein refers to universal feeding. Diluted 1:15. It is infused under the lid until partial fermentation (2-3 days in warm weather). Application dose: 1 liter per plant.
3. Infusion of nettle activates the powers of the strawberry. A bucket (10 l) is filled with chopped nettle, the mass is poured with warm water, left for 1-3 days. Watering is carried out at 1-1.5 liters per plant.
Feeding strawberries with yeast
A new-fashioned way that gives incredible results is yeast feeding. The effect exceeds expectations: nutrition + strengthening + growth + powerful fruiting. Yeast feeding is made from live / raw briquettes and from bakery pellets in several ways. Here are 5 recipes for yeast feeding.
1. A pack of raw yeast (100 g) is diluted in a 10-liter bucket of warm water. Insist day. Watering - 0.5 liters per strawberry bush.
2. 5 packs or 0.5 kg of live yeast is infused in a 3-liter jar for 3-4 hours (warm water). The solution is diluted with 25 l of water. Watering at the root of 0.5-1 liters per plant.
3. Fast acting yeast 1 tsp. + 500 ml of water + 1 tbsp. l. sugar (with a slide). After 3-4 hours, dilute in two buckets of water. Apply 1 liter per plant at the root.
4. Put a small pack of raw yeast (100 g) in a 3 liter jar, add a glass of sand, fill with water, cover loosely (with a lid with a hole made). Leave to ferment for 3 days. For watering 2 tbsp. l + 5 l, 0.5 l per bush.
5.1 tbsp. l. fast-acting granules + 2 g of ascorbic acid + 5 l of warm water + 50 g of sugar. Insist for a day, before use, bring the solution to 10 liters, add a liter.
Top dressing of remontant strawberries
Unlike ordinary garden strawberries, remontant varieties yield 2-3 times a year. With this performance, additional power is required. Feeding of remontant strawberries is carried out 3 times a year.
First feeding
At the beginning of the growing season to build up green mass. Used ammonium sulfate 1 tbsp. l. + 2 cups manure + 10 liters of water. Everything is stirred, infused for 1 day, applied at the root of 0.5 liters.
Second feeding
During the period of the emergence of the flower stalk, before the opening of the first bud. 2 recipes are used: infusion of nettle (preparation is indicated above) or mullein (1 glass + 5 liters of water).
Third feeding
At the beginning of a violent flowering, watering is done with a nutrient solution: 1 tsp. potassium sulfate + 2 tbsp. l. nitrophosphate + 10 liters of water. 0.5 liters are spent for each plant.
Remember to apply the fertilizer on time and evenly. Feeding strawberries is guaranteed to increase the yield, help to form fragrant, large and juicy berries.
