And let's try to plant an exotic tangerine at home. And we will plant it from the bone. Yes, from an ordinary tangerine seed. Rather, from several. But we'll tell you everything in order

Step 1. To plant a tangerine from a bone at home, we need a good seed. That is, the bones themselves. Finding such material is not difficult at all. It is enough to buy the ripe tangerines you like in the store, eat the fruits, and take the seeds, 5-10 pieces, for planting the plant. We take more seeds, and not one, in order to be sure to be with the grown planting material, if any of them does not germinate.

Step 2. We wrap the seed material in cheesecloth for "running" the seeds and their swelling, put it on a dish, in which we moisten it slightly for several days.

Step 3. In the meantime, we buy soil for planting a plant in a gardening store. Ask for one that targets citrus houseplants. It will not be like this - make the soil yourself from equal parts of sod, leafy soil, rotted manure humus, grass compost. Peat soil in the store is not worth buying for a tangerine. Too acidic soil is also not a joy to him. Such soils simply do not suit him. Also buy drainage from the store or take it at the dacha. Drainage should be poured into the bottom of the tangerine pot.

Step 4. They planted the swollen bones in a pot with moist soil to a depth of 1 cm, covered with a film, secured with an elastic band and placed on a warm windowsill next to the radiator. As soon as sprouts appear on the surface, the film will need to be completely removed. Mandarin grows slowly - get ready for it. Even seedlings from its seeds on the surface of the soil will appear only in the third week or more after planting. Although with the film everything can happen before. It happens that for some of its purely personal reasons, the mandarin slows down its growth. Therefore, on this score, do not worry and do not be upset. The main thing is to look after with enthusiasm, and it will grow into a small tangerine tree, which will reward you with sweet fruits afterwards.

Step 5. Mandarin is unpretentious in care, not only in comparison with all other citrus plants, but also with other indoor plants. The main thing is to give him the opportunity to see more light, sunlight. Tangerines need at least 12 hours of sunshine a day and so all year round.

Step 6. Mandarin loves moisture as well as light. Water the houseplant more abundantly in summer than in winter. But you don't need to fill it. Just make sure that the soil in the container with the plant does not dry out both in summer and winter. In addition to watering, mandarin leaves should be sprayed with simple clean water or chilled boiled water. Tangerine does not tolerate dryness in the air of an apartment, therefore it needs constant additional moisture.

Step 7. When a tangerine grows out of its small pot, it needs to be transplanted into larger pots. A good time to transplant an indoor tangerine is late winter or early spring. Each next pot should be 3-5 cm larger in diameter than the previous one. When replanting the tangerine in another pot, try to keep an earthy ball around its root. There is a special transshipment method for transplanting this kind of plants, when you just need to "transfer" a clod of earth together with the plant in it to a new place of residence.

Step 8. A few weeks after planting the plant, it will begin a growth activation period. Such periods are repeated several times throughout the spring and summer. Give a tangerine tree during such periods to "eat" mineral and organic fertilizer, tea leaves, which should be dripped into the ground.

Step 9. A tangerine tree in indoor conditions can grow up to one and a half meters in height. Fits perfectly into any interior, even in such a large form. During the flowering period, it is showered with pleasantly smelling flowers. Then they develop into bright, beautiful, tasty fruits. This is the period when the views of all the inhabitants of the house and guests of the house are attracted to the tree.

Some mistakes and tips when growing a tangerine tree

Mandarins slowly and painfully adapt to new living conditions, for example, changing an apartment to a summer cottage during the warm season. You should not take an indoor tangerine out of town in the spring or summer so that it “breathes” fresh air there.

You should not overdry the soil in which the tangerine grows and excessively waterlogging it. Moisture in moderation! It can simply be poured into a tray in which the plant stands and it will consume as much of it as it needs.

It is necessary to loosen the soil in a pot of tangerine carefully, not deeply, since its rhizome is located in the upper layer of the pot.

Mandarin does not like cold draft in the house and does not tolerate smokers in the room. Can easily discard the leaves if someone smokes in his presence.
